Choice for first Patek PC

Thinking of acquiring my first PC in the next 12 months. I currently has the 5146G/5711A/5524G and thus probably going to give one piece out in exchange.

I have the following in mind: 5327R/5159R (both at good price) but the more I look at, the more I like about the 5740G

What do you guys think? OR should I just bite the bullet and go for a NOS 5270R?

I would get the 5740G. 5320G is a great watch too.

IMO a Patek PCC is the flagship watch in their lineup.

I really like the 5740 but the 5270r is certainly worthy of consideration. I might be inclined to go for it being such a classic patek look. 5970r should be considered too.

I have decided that this will end up being my next Patek/watch as well. Leaning 5270.

5740 or the 5270 if you don't want two Nauts.

Thanks guys. Yes, I can get the 5740G from dealer with reasonable wait but for the 5270r, needs to go thru grey as AD no longer carry them. Price is very similar to the 5740.

5970 is nice but used here now cost close to the new 5270P... very hard to find.

any reason why no one likes the 5159/5327 esp Price point is quite a bit lower than 5740.

TRF is a big Nautilus/Aquanaut watch forum. So the popularity of the 5740 extends from the Nautilus popularity as well as the fact it is new and difficult to get. In general, "hard to get" pieces tend to garner more interest and enthusiasm here. Of course TRF is a segment of the online watch world and many others with differing interests on other forums.

IMO the 5327 and 5159 are both fabulous PCs. Once again the 5320 will get more attention here because it is newer and harder to find watch. The 5159 has been around for 10 years and at the $70k-$80k price range, there are many other solid competitors. The 5327G with the blue dial is quite nice if you are looking for a slim PC based on the 240 movement. The 5327 has the same movement as the 5740.

To me, the 5159's dial is quite "cramped" and busy. The case is also fairly thick at 11.8mm. Some may like it but I do not appreciate it.

The 5327G is nice with the blue dial. It has a very classic proportion and slim. However, between 5327G and 5740, I will get the 5740 as I find the 5740's aesthetic even more appealing. Go get it!

If you can swing it, the 5270 would be my choice. If not, both the 5327 and 5159 are superb perpetual calendar watches, just without a chronograph, which is perfectly fine. As for the 5740, I can't imagine someone cross-shopping it with the above-mentioned watches. Either you want a dress watch or you want whatever the Nautilus is.

Would you trade in the 5711+5146 towards the 5740/5270/5970? Or just add the 5327R and keep the rest.
