Just got my first Panerai

I am really enjoying it! I liked lots of models but really wanted to start with a Radiomir 47. I only have a 7 1/4 inch summer wrist, so was a bit scared it would overpower the wrist. It doesn't! Big watch, sure. But these close up wrist shots exaggerate the sizing. When I view the watch from two feet away on the wrist it looks great. Wears even better.

Went with the 721 because I was just mesmerized by the blank dial and blue hands. Killer look! Plus the wire lugs, 100M resistance, and domed plexi just conveyed the DNA of the brand to me. Been wanting one for years. Glad I finally took the plunge. I have the original straps off of it already, and a set of lighter ones (same as on the 720) on it now. Also going to have a set made at Combat Straps. Bought an OEM buckle for it as well to make strap swaps even easier.

I could not be happier. Sort of scared this might start a movement in my collection. Heh. Man I had my eye on the 632/645/646 in blue, and I love the 390, and 127, and 217. Oh and the 911. And 587. And 372. Hahahaha. Going to just try to enjoy this one for awhile, but man there are a bunch of cool references out there. Thanks for reading TRF!

That's what I'm afraid of! Ah well. Plan to wear this one a bit and see how I feel about it, but there are many excellent watches in their stable.

Congratulations and welcome to the madness. Before going for the next one, first get strap shopping.

Thanks all! Put my order in with Combat Straps (Aaron) yesterday for a brown beavertail leather with blue stitching custom strap. This Panerai thing is fun. And addicting.

Thanks bud. I went back and forth and back and forth between the 720 and 721. Both excellent examples of the brand DNA I think.

Thanks again all! Really enjoying the watch so far. I'm very excited to hit the airport AD in Istanbul and the boutique in Doha next month. Strap shopping, plus I'd like to check out the 995 and 999.

LOL. Everyone who said this would start something was correct, because here I am less than a month later with my second PAM! Yay for the 945!
