I'm a hobby metal detectorist and enjoy recovering people's lost rings on a voluntary basis.
Yesterday I recovered and returned a lady's Datejust, which she had lost while walking her dog on the beach.
The watch was gift from her late husband, I believe 30 years ago, and she was very upset to have lost it.
I would be interested to know the model of the watch and any help is greatly appreciated.

I think it is a 26mm DJ reference 69158 with Rolex factory diamond lugs.
The dial and bezel doesn’t look period correct. Perhaps changed once at a service.

What a great hobby you have. I can only imagine the happiness for the owner if they get their cherished possessions back.
Doing it voluntary is a class act.

Thanks Joli160, I met her on the beach so that she could show me where she had walked. She was very upset and crying as she told me about the watch. It wasn't looking good, as the beach was firm where she had walked and a watch wouldn't disappear out of sight, so I thought that someone had picked it up.
However, there is a sandy path from the car park to the beach and I found the watch there with my detector.
It was great to get it back to her.
