Depends on the price, but the band is very strectched.
If you plan to always wear it daily on the bracelet, then find another, because a new bracelet is extremly expensive.
If you want it on a strap, then pay for the watch, and scrap gold price for the bracelet.

Depending on the price, but the stretch doesn't appear that bad to me. I've seen a lot worse and would not put it anywhere close to calling it "very stretched." Based on the pic, and once the band is on the wrist, and not kinked to one side as in the photo, I doubt you would notice much stretch at all.

Considering its age the band is not stretched at all.
Hopefully it is the correct period for the 8M watch.
For a band to look like that usually the watch is also very nice.
Do you have more pics?

Sure there is a nit of stretch there but nothing I would ne too worried about. Any more pics of the rest of the watch?

I always wonder what the big deal is about bracelet stretch. It doesn't make the watch unwearable. If it's too loose take out a link. The minute you put a brand new 18K band on your wrist it start's to stretch unless you drop it into an ultrasonic cleaner after every wear. If you do this your problem isn't bracelet stretch. The watch your showing looks fine. If this stretch issue bothers you don't buy it.

I don't consider that to be badly stretched, at all. That bracelet could have thirty years left in it. That's an OK deal.

It obviously starts very slowly but over time every one will show some degree of stretch. Do you disagree?

If you put it under a microscope yes, otherwise not visible.

That bracelet is fine for its age. It has to cant downward a bit in that position, even when new.

Not sure what your point is with this comment. Have you never seen this before? Do you imagine it to be fictitious? Yes you may not notice it in the short term but my point is it will happen to all of them to some degree with a combination of time and wear.

What exactly is the issue with bracelet stretch? Does it imply impending failure of the bracelet?

That bracelet is not bad at all.

When you wear it, you wont even notice it.

Deal or no deal? Your call.

Stretch is wear, and at some point the bracelet, usually the pins first, will brake, and be useless.
A new bracelet for the DD is probably 20.000$, so the bracelet shouldn´t be too worn.

It just indicates wear and tear. Almost all used Rolex have some, but it by no means indicates imminent failure. These bracelets can easily last 50 years, and I've seen some that look terrible after 10 years. I've never seen a pin on a Rolex bracelet fail, but I've seen a few links on jubilees that pulled apart (always the gold link).

Even if something fails on a jubilee, it would probably not fall off your wrist. I'm not so familiar with president bracelets.

Not bad- pretty good amount of stretch though IMHO. If you like it go for it.

I really am looking for something with a bit less stretch to be honest, but i like the full recent service and love the dial, i guess the price is what it should be, Im gonna try to have the band swapped with something tighter. i'll see.

Just get the bracelet fixed. There are companies that can disassemble and repair it to almost new.

Micheal Young has been recommended by a lot. No experience with him yet though.

He has a website with pricing info. It's a bit extra for gold.

Try classwatchparts.com.
