How big is too big?

For a men's and ladies watch?

Depends on the wrist! From what I've seen, 40MM max for women and 46MM for men. Something like that.

As I said in a previous post, if the face of the watch traverses the entire width of your wrist (no to mention the case) the watch is too big.

You should see some "meat" on either side of the watch as well.

Depends on the person IMO, I have been to a few PAM events and I have seen a few ladies wearing 43 & 44mm that carry it very well. I personally do not care for large watches, but I think they look good on others.

I think allot of women are slaves to ridiculous fashion.

Was this the gal wearing the PAM?

The safest place for your watch is on your wrist.

I kind of look at it one wrist at a time. Depends on the person and the watch.

My wrist is 6.75 inches but more flat. So I can wear a case up to 55mm and it not look silly. Currently the largest I have is a 45.5mm Planet Ocean.

I also think it depends on the wrist. Some men have very large wrists and can wear pretty massive watches, so it's good as long as the case doesn't go over the width of wrist. However, if I had to put a limit for women, I'd also say 40mm, not just for size proportionality but also for the femininity.

To me, if it is wider than your wrist then it is too big. I also think that a watch that is thick does not look good on women.

In my opinion, 40 mm seems to be just about the perfect size for virtually any and all wrists!!

Invicta has one called Leviathan. This is it. It belongs to a member from another forum. I believe he said its weight was 1lb.

I have an 8 inch wrist. Anything bigger than 44 mm looks kind of silly on me.

My wife has a slender wrist, and 31 mm looks OK on her.

That's not my wrist. But I have tried on a watch that size and I think 55mm would be the max for me.

I have a 6.5 wrist so 40mm is the max for me and a 36mm DJ looks well proportioned.

I don't like the trend for bigger watches - no one should need a watch larger than 40mm and the ones over 40 mm are often packed out solely to make the cases larger. Rolex have got it just right with the 40mm professional models.
