Cobbled together GMT 16750 set on ebay.

I've had a couple guys ask me to look at this ebay watch being sold by awadwatches in Miami. I have no idea who they are but the watch has a "cobbled together" set of accessories. If this doesn't bother you, then disregard this thread.

The watch was sold in Spain. It has a USA Bufkor box, wrong booklets (some are stamped USA) an Oyster perpetual hang tag which should be GMT embossed and a Datejust style Jubilee bracelet not a GMT Jubilee.

If you are looking for a GMT 16750 set, I would think one would expect the accessories to be correct - some in this listing are not.

The asking price is $13,595. Here is the link:

You Live and Learn, I had purchased this watch not picking up on the red flags in the accessories. I have learned the UV light check trick for tritium. Photo attached is of this watch and the hands look painted or relumed. You can see small spots of lume shining through.

I returned the watch for a full refund and he paid for shipping. I showed him the pic and watch is still on sale.

Anyone have any other thoughts on what's going on with the hands?

Probably used a type a chemical to stabilize the back of the hands and it shines through imperfections on the tritium..

The 'full set' has become the biggest distraction when selling a poor watch. Purchasers get very excited and forget about the watch; dial, hands and especially the case. Springer you are fantastic help to so many people, myself included.

What's the difference between a DJ and GMT jubilee bracelet?

For a GMT - the last link on the jubilee would be marked "50" and would use "550" end links, or newer ones "502"s..

Jubilee, no "50"s and end links 555s..

What kind of black light do you use? The led flashlight type or the full fluorescent bulb type that is specific for uv light rather than a "party/dj" light?

I'm using a high powered LED UV flashlight. You want to be in a dim lit area when checking.

I would love to hear more on this and what others are using as well.

This is the one I use but there are lots out there.
