5712 White Gold

I realize the 5712 in stainless steel is very difficult to find. I imagine the white gold version is easier to source. Is that a correct assumption or am I off base? With the current explosion in prices for the stainless pieces, doesn't looking at gold make a lot of sense?

Yes it makes lot of sense especially that the wg version now is cheaper after discount. The point is that the wg version is for a reason way less popular than the ss and most people prefer the ss and RG because of the dial color. The ss also is more comfy because of the deployant clasp on wg and RG is somehow unbalanced and finally the wg comes only on leather/rubber straps which is less desirable than bracelet

I think that being the least sold today will make it the most collectible in the future.

I have the 5712r which to my eyes is the most beautiful of the 3. It has the best dial and rg makes it feel warm and special.

Comfort i agree, bracelet of s/s is the best.

The softer the strap becomes, the most comfy the watch becomes. I lve mine.

I agree. I love the look of the 5712r over the other two, the reason I bought that one. The WG is a little dull in real life. I also just love the brown dial.

In general people prefer SS and like watches on bracelets. If they offered the RG Version on bracelet my guess is it would sell much better

As been said Nauts on bracelets with blue dials are golden, haha, but the 5712R is more prized than the WG, and a large used price difference between the two reflects that. The top weight of the gold on the strap is very nice.

I was visiting an AD a couple of days ago, and admiring the stock on the floor. The sales rep noticed my Aquanaut, told me to wait a minute, and brought a WG 5712 out of the safe. It was a beauty! I was wondering how readily available they are.

I certainly would not buy one. Too flashy, conspicuous. Rg on strap best combo for me even if slightly less comfy.

In general, I would have a hard time wearing a full colored gold watch, but the 5711/1r is the one that is the exception as I don’t think it’s flashy at all. I tried it on last summer (pic below), and it’s really something special. The conceptual 5712/1r likely would fall in the same “exception” category.

I love this. Personally my favorite Nautilus at the moment...
