Would you buy the 312 or 351?

I know this topic has probably been discussed in the past but I am looking at both of these models and I am wondering if anyone would give their insight on which model they would prefer? Lastly, I am curious if the 351 (with having the tobacco color dial) would look odd with a black strap? I am worried that I might be limited to straps in the brown tones if I purchase the 351. I have looked around on forums and I am struggling to find any pic's of the 351 on a black strap and I don't know if that means it looks out of place or maybe it is just a coincidence. Thanks in advance everyone!

It's a good point you make about matching strap colors. I think the 312 is more suitable with different strap colors although both are great looking watches. Can't go wrong either way.

351 will look better on Brown straps for sure. People take pics of their best combos for posting.

If black straps are important to you, do the 312.

I favor the 351 dial and hands, but the 312 case (ss). 390 is perfect!

mfer-I agree the 390 is perfect however I have called 3 Panerai shops and they basically laughed when I asked if they can get a 390. You obviously have great taste-a hard to find item. I am not married to black straps and I actually probably prefer the brown however I am just thinking if I am ever want to put a black alligator or rubber on the watch...

Guess you need more than one Panerai!

Black dial on brown straps tends to look better to me than brown dial on black straps. But, I'm sure you can find black strap combos that work with threading colors if the 351 speaks more to you. There are just so many straps out there, I wouldn't let strap combo worries be the biggest issue.

Good luck with the choice!
