Great watch but its huge. The dial makes it wear bigger then 42. You need a 7++ wrist for it. Get the 40m if you are smaller

It's a very nice watch, but to me it is one of the least Rolex-looking Rolexes out there with that bezel. Could be a good thing or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I favor the Sub or GMT personally.

Yes, it is. 42 vs 40 mm in overall diameter.

Yes it is. That's why I took this pic. Also the white face is going to appear slightly larger on the wrist anyway. Look at some pics of those who have both Exp2 - side by side the Polar will look larger than the black.

I would look for a 5 digit Polar in 40mm if you don't want the 42mm

Indestructible. I've beaten the living sh!t out of mine for almost a decade and a half. Twice through service. Love it.

I really like the EII with the older style GMT hand. Would go nicely with my Seamaster in my collection of compensation pieces for not being able to pick up a Batman from an AD -___-

Black generally wears smaller.

I have a smaller wrist and the modern polar wears too big, though it’s flatter than the modern Sub. So, that’s a plus. I know it’s a mental thing, but I feel like I can pull off the black Ex II, as I’ve tried it on a few times.

Love mine...it runs very consistently and is my only white dial. It has a constant battle against Sub and Tudor GMT as daily beaters. My wrist is 7 1/8 but have to say I wouldn’t go for a bigger watch as I like a bit of meat visible above and below lugs. The strap and clasp are great and the lume is probably only second to a Pelagos, which I tried on but found just a tiny bit too big due to its height.
I got mine 6 months old at a 10% discount to MSRP Feb 18 so absolutely no complaints and this is a keeper.

It's a fantastic watch. I have the 114060 as well- both get equal wrist time. I don't have a huge wrist. Definitely get one if you have a chance

It's a very nice piece and sits lower than a Sub on the wrist. Don't get hung up on wrist size - imo there's too much 'size anxiety' for some reason. If you can wear the Sub you'll be fine with the Exp II. Try the old model by all means, but you may find it rather underwhelming by comparison (no offence to owners - I had two of 'em in the past). The old one is actually ~39mm and somewhat diminutive overall, and you'd have to be happy with the old-style clasp

Nah, I mean just the dial. I wish I would've measured my 16570 when I had it, but I found it to be not as easy to read as I would've liked. I flipped it for a 216570 and it's much more legible. I think it might be more due to the hands being...large. But, for reference...my daily wearers include a BlackBay Heritage (41mm case, dial ~ 31.3mm), 216570 Polar (42mm case, dial ~ 30.1mm) and a Sinn 856 (40mm case, dial ~ 31.9mm).

Clearly life in quarantine has me questioning all the important issues.

I had a Polar for a couple of years and enjoyed the watch. I wore it a lot in the Summer but it seemed to stay in the watch box the rest of the time. I moved on from it.

Thank you, I’m around 7.5 to 7.9 inches (about 20cm) depending on how I manage to get it measured.

I’m very curious what will the feeling be when I’ll be rotating the other way around, back to the SD43.

I have a 17cm/6.75 inch wrist and I find the Explore II a comfortable watch.

Most pictures dont do the Polar justice.
Not the most photogenic Rolex (Unlike everybody"s little darling, the ss Daytona).
The picture above is excellent
It needs to be adored in the metal .
I own both the Polar and the black .Its a tie .

Yeah, it's one of those that are much better in person. I had one, traded it because of an opportunity I couldn't pass up. Now it's back on the list to get again. Miss it very much.

It's a great reference, one of the best modern Rolexes, IMO. But, like any watch, you should try one on before you buy and see how you like it first.

My first Rolex was a Polar Exp II and I would have been satisfied if I happened to be my last. Gorgeous watch and extremely handsome on the wrist. Proud to own one and you wont be dissapointed!

It's my favorite modern rolex, well along with the daytona. What others have said it does wear large, I know what you are thinking, 42mm, it can't be that big, I had a speedmaster which is also 42mm and it was alot larger(or appeared so) than the speedy(have a 6 1/2 - 6 3/4 wrist). try it on and see how it fits, also not really a suit/dress watch but that is my opinion.

My head says I should like it. Good size... A bit of of colour. Functional. But something about the bezel, and the combination of Orange and white puts me off it. I genuinely don't like it... No offence to anyone.

I had one as my first Rolex, wore it daily for about 2 years. I later had a major collection cull and it went as I decided it was just too large for my personal tastes - mainly due to the lugs and SEL’s rather than the diameter. I moved to a Ceramic Sub which does wear a bit better if you have the bracelet fairly snug. I find that makes a big difference to the perceived ‘size’ of how a watch wears and the glidelock allows you to optimise.

If you are happy with the fit, it is wonderful to have something a little less common though.
