Sweet bikes and cars everybody! I have a 96 Honda XR-100 dirtbike that isn't presently running right now. I also have a Ferrari in my alternate reality. Hey Paul, I love those black powdercoated pipes on your bike. Is it a soft-tail or rigid? Back in the day my dad had a Harley. It was a Lowrider rigid. He put a 6 inch belt drive on it and took out the electric starter and replaced it with a kick. He said that thing was a b!tch to start in the summer. He also replaced the carb. I don't remember what kind he put on though. Man, I wish he still had that thing.

Thanks Tyler. The pipes are ceramic coated from the factory. They came that way on my particular bike for 2000-2001 models. It's neither a softail or rigid. It's a Dyna Glide. A Super Glide Sport to be precise. A rigid doesn't have any shocks in the back, and a softail looks like a rigid. The shocks are mounted horizontally under the bike to give it the look of a rigid. Look at the pic of Ralphie's Fat Boy and you'll see what I mean. It's in the Softail family.
I've heard stories about guys having a heck of a time kicking over their old Harleys. They used to kick back like a SOB. Does your father have any pics of his Low Rider? I'd love to see them.
One more thing. Get that Honda running and have some fun with it.

I can't help myself

Just lately my cars have been changed like JJs watches.

You might remember this one,

Decided I wanted a Turbo Diesel version next,

Then decided I might try an Auto version,

The scary part! This is just the wife's car this year. You should see how often my company car changes.

Thanks for that Paul. My dad said that sometimes in the summer, when you would try to kick it, it would kick back and just about kick your freaking leg off. I'm assuming it's worse than the honda I have which still hurts like hell if it kicks back. Dad also said with that open belt drive he had you had to be really careful of where you put your leg or your jeans would get ripped. That happened to him about twice and I think he learned his lesson. That honda is acting weird though, because it was running fine and then it just decided to start, run and when you gave it gas it just turned off. We'll have to work on it.

I'm not a big believer in spending Rolex-worthy dosh on rapidly-depreciating wheels. Mine's an oldie but a goodie:

This one's a work in progress. Honda's built this engine beautifully - after 239,000 km, it loses no oil at all and runs perfectly, and all it needs now is a new timing belt and oxygen sensor. If I can be bothered, I'll eventually whack in a stiff set of shock absorbers and alloy rims, but the 4-wheel-steering system gives good enough handling on its own.

That's an oldie but a goodie james. Honda does make some reliable cars.

Okay, my turn:

1/ Wife's former car - just got rid of it over the Xmas break. 1989 325ix, with 280,000 kms on it.

2/ Wife's new car (and the wife) - 2001 325xi - we like it a lot!

Side view:

This is my older 1994 530i......it had a 3.0 liter V8 engine, which is quite small for an 8 cylinder. That engine made the sweetest sound when you pushed it........

And this is my current car - 1998 540i. I really like this car......

Another shot:

I've never been too keen on the wheels that came on this car, so last fall I bought some new wheels, and will be putting summer rubber on these in a few weeks to be prepared for the car to come out.

235 R17's on the front, and 255 R17's on the back.....should be sweet!

Thanks for reading!
