Help with my 6332

I’m new to the forum-I’d like to know details about my model 6332. What do you think it’s worth, and should I spend the money to have it serviced at Rolex. Thanks and I hope I posted appropriately. Pictures attached, s/n is 978906.

TRF is not a valuation service (this is in the rules that are to be read before posting), I’d suggest that you do an online search with vintage dealers to ascertain value.

OK thanks. Also wanted some feedback if anybody knows anything about this model and age. I spent 3 hours on the web and didn’t come up with much-I thought maybe with all the expertise on this forum someone might be able to help. ALso there was the question of the value of the factory service vs. the value of the watch.

I suppose the watch is probably from 1954, just before the serial number reset, but the hands are replacements and everything has been re-lumed at some point. So you can factor that into your valuation.

I don't think that anyone can really advise you whether to spend the money on a service, especially since you haven't really given us much context. Is this an heirloom piece, a routine part of a large collection, a new acquisition that you are going to flip, etc? The cost of a service really has no relation to the value of a watch. If you love the watch and want to continue to wear it, it needs to be serviced now and then, there's not really an alternative. If you are going to sell it, then don't pay for a service. You may be able to save some money by using an independent watchmaker.

Good Stuff, thank you. Any chance anyone could recommend an independent service person? Does the “reluming” and the hand replacement help or hurt the value?

This is a unique Rolex model in that it has a 2 piece dial and flat case sides. It's referred to as a semi-bubbleback as the case back is slightly rounded. The crown is also a replacement as the original would have + marking. It wears nicely for an older model since it is larger than most models of that time at 34mm. If you are considering using it you may want to get an estimate from an independent watchmaker to get it back to original with a set of gilt leaf hands. If you are considering a sale, the service cost would not justify the value of the watch.
