So I couldn't help it anymore, don't want to wait for the black and brown alligator straps to be delivered. I went to downtown SF Cartier and picked up these.

Should I have gone another color? I feel that the blue goes better with the SS...

Also, would this setup work with a suit or more a casual look?

Please feel free to comment if you feel differently otherwise.

Orange Alligator for future reference. It has a glossy finish and in certain lighting conditions it looks light brown/tan with orange hue. Last picture below is beside a Bob Marino Calf Blue strap.

Would you guys consider this a casual look with jeans, or it will go with a suit as well?

Casual like Jeans no problem on an orange strap.

If for suits, I’d best go with a black, blue or dark brown.

Grey suit would work too. Also white or tan.

I love the blue alligator on mine as matches so nicely with the hands.
Don’t use the tan one it also came with.
I switch back and forth from blue alligator to SS bracelet.
Looking to get a black alligator in the future for for al wear.
I think I may want that orange one as well.

Thanks 123Blueface. How is the wear and tear, literally, when switching straps with only one clasp? I've noticed the black lining on the side of straps shred easily. Is this the case for your too?

Yes, blue looks great with SS. I've seen the dark brown gator on SS which looks the best I think.

2018 Santos de Cartier

I always loved the Santos; my aunt and uncle each have matching his and hers galbees in two tone; probably 30 years old and wear them everyday. Always thought they were so unique looking; the Santos is a great design in my opinion and it looks great on the bracelet or a strap.

Very nice. I wish I fit the large model. My 6 inch wrists couldn't pull it off. On bracelet it was doable but the straps were stiff enough to give me serious overhang. Was enjoying wearing mine today. So nice and thin it slips under cuffs so easily.

My burgundy strap which was less than one month old started looking like that after only four or five changes. I returned it and since they didn’t have another burgundy I got the darker tan strap. Adjustments.JPG

This was the burgundy. Made in France it said on the back. The tan says made in Austria. My blue says made in Switzerland.

Very nice! If only they had a TT with a blue face.

Mine looked like that after adjusting the length lol.. I now put a small film of leather conditioner on the sides when installing a new strap to help it slide in the clasp smoothly.

How are your other straps holding up.

I never considered the Burgundy strap but after seeing your pic..... :)

Have any better pictures?

So far, my straps all say made if France. The last two, black and blue I installed, no damage so far.

Thanks for sharing.

The other straps have been ok probably just bad luck with the burgundy. I have better pics but Tapatalk is the problem now. They only post in very low resolution.

Exactly like your picture. And I’m pretty careful so I wonder about the quality of these straps. But my blue has been ok and the tan is too new to tell. It’s such a great watch for the money and the ease of switching between the bracelet and the strap is so nice I almost don’t care. And they were accommodating when it came to giving me an exchange.

Not sure if I mentioned in this thread but I purchased an extra clasp to avoid ruining the a $400 strap when switching. This way it will literally plug and play with no adjustment needed each time, prolonging the life of the strap.

How much did the extra clasp cost, just out of curiosity?
