I wear frames from Garrett Leight when I am not wearing contacts. They make great stuff and his father was the founder of olive peoples which is now out of family hands.

I recently got some frames from a German company called Lunor (found them in Paris). Typical tortoise shell frames, but look, feel and wear nicer than the typical upscale mall brands here in the USA - Georgio Armani, Persol etc.

I bought them through Ebay in Germany because when I looked them up here in the states, the local eyeglasses dealer wanted $700-750 for the frames alone with no prescription... I got them for half that directly through the manufacturer's Ebay.

My older frames were a French company called Light-Tec. They are very light weight and comfortable, but a bit modern and too Euro-stylish for my tastes.

I would def recommend eyevan then very classic style but they are about little details and quality materials. They were very established on the manufacturing side of high end eyewear for brands like Oliver People and now are gaining traction as a stand alone brand. There is a good selection of frame styles I've owned 3 pairs from them and probably will add another when I'm back in Tokyo this winter.

I bought these on Friday. They are Lunor. I paid $475 I think. That does not include the price of the prescription lenses. The boutique gave me that carrying case that holds 6 frames for free. I guess because I bought those Lunors, a pair of Cartier’s, and a pair of Mykita’s. Reminded me very much of something an AD would do. A little Rolex Swag for a good customer.

Seconding Eyevan. Also if anyone wants something a little more interesting there's Native Sons. Superb quality as well.

I only have reading glasses and don’t go too crazy on price with them. My favorite sunglasses these days are Persol, I reckon if I needed fulltime glasses I would try some of their’s.

I'm hard on my glasses and for the past few years my Rx keeps changing, so I just get them from Warby Parker.

I had lasik years ago - it never fully worked for me. No complications, just my eye sight was not good, so within a year I was back to wearing glasses.

Sounds like you did well! The Lunors are very nice. I’ve tried quite a few, but I’ve found a comfort zone with the old school/vintage vibe Ray-Ban frames. Very comfortable, and never thought so...but have actually received compliments
Sorry for the weird picture...it’s the most recent I could find that had a good view of the Ray-Bans (daughter and I at the Big Foot museum )

I have gravitated towards Persol. I have a few pairs in both eyeglasses and sunglasses.
