Avatar Troubles

Evening all,

I am noticing many of you have great Avatar pictures that appear very clear and non-pixelated (not sure if word but i'll go with it).

My question is....How?!
I have tried the searching the forum for a short while but can't find anything solid to help me out.

I have tried on previous occasions to put up an avatar on my profile and failed. Today I have tried again and it just inst playing ball. How on does everyone get their image size down to 150x150 without cropping the picture down to a small blur!

I'm normally pretty 'tech savvy' but this has stumped me....Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers!

I'm using Tapatalk to post pictures onto forum posts but can't seem to upload an 'avatar' or profile pic for want of a better term. (The picture that sits u see your username on the left when posting) I notice you have quite the collection from yours :D

Use any number of image sizing programs to reduce the dimensions and file size.

I've tried downloading compression/resizing apps but as soon as the file goes below 19.5KB in size, which is forum allowance, the image quality becomes unusable.

I was about to ask the same question. if I follow the dimensions and file size the site allows the avatar becomes too small. However, I see on this forum bigger avatars with great resolution. How come?

The same people behind the Rolex SS shortage are behind the pixel shortage. Or so I heard.

Heard the same thing.

Pixel manufacturers are holding back the number they are producing to drive up price and demand.

I use Photoshop Elements 12 to do this kind of image processing.

I used to Paint, but Paint has become a Pain, so I use Pain only to reduce file size, which still works okay.

I suggest you look for some free image editing software on the internet and give those a try.

I use image size app to resize, you can get it for free, that might help.
