Casual strap on BLNR?
New Batman owner here,
I see a lot of folk here wearing rubber or fabric straps on their watches. Dumb question, how hard is it to change the strap over and any pitfalls to doing it regularly? Trying to avoid scratching mine too much when desk diving. Also, where do you buy the straps? Thanks! |

Not that hard of you are a little handy. Downside is losing spring bars and scratching your watch case, not a big deal for me, as A few scratches doesn't bother me at all.
I like Rubber B, but I always come back to the bracelet. |

I love the PCL but they are tough to hide marks and if you are OCD, pcl on a every day watch you need to make peace with that they are gonna show marks. This is huge reason why they should never be on a dive watch. IMO. Many here have actually brushed their pcl to give the bracelets more cosmetic durability. The rubber strap works on the Sub and BLNR if you want to switch it up but to me Rolex is a bracelet watch. Tape off your lugs when/if you do a strap change.

Strap changing is easy once you get the hang of it. You can get an a set of Bergeon tweezers to make things easier on yourself. I use Everest for rubber and also throw in some NATO straps every now and then. Couldn't find a NATO pic but here is my BLNR and Sub on Everest rubber

I saw a BLNR in black Rubber B. Didn't do it for me. Still prefer the bracelet but consigned to the fact that there will be marks and scratches on the PCL, like the Daytona.

A BIG tip for changing straps is to put masking tape all over the lugs - will save you scratching or marking it

With very few exceptions, I think rolex sports watches look much better on the oyster bracelet. No problem in changing it up a bit if you like, just be sure to use the proper tools and be careful with the case.

I would NOT so sure about that.
The Everest website has different part numbers and options for different watches. Eg: https://www.everestbands.com/collect...nt=10540332036

IMO, the maxi-case does not lend itself to look very good on straps. A decent jeweler can polish out the PCLs with no ill effect.

The original bracelet, scratches and all, is the best looking option. Just enjoy the watch.
Why remove the bracelet and fit a strap that looks worse, to preserve the bracelet that you're not even wearing? It's like car guys who put those awful Car-Bra things on their cars to preserve the paint. It just makes the car ugly and preserves paint that no one ever gets to see because of the Car-Bra anyway. If you like the strap then go for it, but don't do it just to save the bracelet. |

Just fix any minor scuffs and scratches at home every few months with Cape Cod cloth.

Quick question for those that change over straps regularly.
Do you need to buy extra spring bars or are the original ones robust enough to withstand regular changes? |

I'd echo this line of thought for 6 digit references and to a lesser degree 5 digits. Now 4 digits on a NATO strap look awesome JMO of course.

If you're going to put it on any kind of strap on a BLNR, THIS is the one.

Sorry to raise a dead thread, but was just looking for straps for my watch and thought that bracelet looked awesome. Some guys are manly enough to pull off things that you might find "girlie". To each their own I say.
