I really love Rolex but I honestly cannot understand how a watch with a blue dial and a green crystal and an orange hand gets made

I've said it before and ill say it again. The blue dial competes with the green crystal too much. The black dial compliments the green crystal which is the real highlight of the watch.

I went back and forth and ultimately went with the black. I am just not cool enough to pull off the blue, but wanted something a little more silly than an OP or Explorer.

Personal taste but

I think the blue is the wildest Rolex design, the blue dial changes colors based on light exposure and can look black in dark.
It took me 8 months to find a blue but was offered 3 blacks during my global search, I have the theory that blue is less produced or more popular because I found more blacks available. I just asked the person who spotted 2 at Barcelona about their colors and they were black.
My second theory is the possibility that it may get discontinued first following white.

Which do you prefer Rolex milgauss blue dial or black?

Best track on that album is All Blues, so extra points. That might be my favorite Jazz track actually...although Mingus has some that contend.

Both are nice, I like the blue but fear that it will be just another blue watch. At some point, the love affair with blue dial watches is going to end.

Black
Only milgauss with the little half second hashes on the dial truer to the original milgauss

I own the z-blue and I've owned many other blue dial watches, and the z-blue is unlike any other I've seen.
Sunray electric blue under a green crystal ain't just any other blue dial.
Plus I'm a completely uncool dork, which is why I love my multi coloured z-blue.

I initially went for the blue dial. Traded it soon after for the black. Black just works better IMO. It's one that grows on you more with time, whereas the blue I found to have the opposite effect.

I love all four. I originally had the black non gv and loved the matte dial with the orange outer markers but the blue kept haunting me so I made the switch. Sometimes I wish I kept it and added a white as well.

I've been torn between the two. I viewed the black dial GV at the AD and I put a deposit down on the Z Blue, pending if it sings to me when I see it in person. My favorite visual feature of the watch is the green crystal. Z Blue owners do you feel the green crystal gets lost with the brightness/pop of color of the blue?
