Rolex Release Date To AD After Baselworld
I would like to say " HI " to you all fine TRF members, and wish you all a wonderful weekend.
I am first on the list at my local AD here in T.O Canada for a Blue SS Sky-Dweller. There are already 20 people on the list for this watch as of today. Can you please let me know approximately what month the AD should receive the first shipment after Baselworld. |

No one knows but Rolex. Some models ie. new bezel on existing watch can come out rather quickly but most pieces arrive near fall from my experience. Cheers.

Tudor is now saying may. Rolex is probably may. You may recall last year John mayer and ben Clymer were the first to receive daytonas and the article was published may 21.

Picked up my 116500 in the US last year at end of May. There were few that were delivered in the US about three weeks before that, maybe more.

I just saw these today at Baselworld and the Rolex reps want you to know that you and 75,000 other enthusiasts are first on the lists at about 50 AD's. All for just these three watches. And no blue dials produced until the Jets win a Super Bowl.

A side bar to this question would also be, which of our esteemed trusted sellers will be the first to sell one here?

I got my Daytona early June last year, but spoke with two AD's regarding this years releases (Sea-Dweller & Sky-Dweller) and got very conflicting answers.
One said early 2018 at the earliest and the other said in 3-4 months time. I'm not convinced with either of those estimates, I believe that they will know more next week. |

If you were smart, you'd have given that deposit to Damiani Jeweller's in Woodbridge. They are the original AD in Canada to sell Rolex watches. Back in the day, if you lived in Vancouver and wanted a Rolex, you'd have to fly to Toronto and go to Woodbridge to see Frank for one. They are the dealer that get's them first, and get's them often. That is where I had to go to get my DSSD. RDV couldn't get anything in and had a wait list longer than my sleeve. Humbertown Jeweller's would get one, once in a while but would offer no discount. Enjoy the wait. |

The other question is, will these new watches soften the market on the Daytona C? Less demand.... lower prices?

I don't think it will effect the Daytona C demand.

I don't believe ADs have any idea just yet when they will be getting shipments on new models. It has seemed that in the past couple of years, Rolex has begun to release models much quicker. I anticipate the Datejust 41 will appear first because the model already exists in two tone. This is, of course, just conjecture.

AD in Florida confirmed yesterday that the new SS Sky-D would arrive in "2-3 months," which puts it June-July timeframe. They also said that the expect to receive "around 200" of them, so I'm not sure if I believe them as that sounds ridiculously high.
