Also glad i dont live in tne UK. Horrible weather, city tax, massive VAT... makes me wonder why people live there. Have you thought about moving the the South of France, or perhaps Italy. There are many wonderful places with advantages over the UK. This could be an opportunity to make a glorious life change. Maybe someone is sending you a sign?

Pack up and move, you may find yourself happier too.

Hey, we can "talk" about the UK, you can't. Last thing we need is people on here talking crap about other people's countries.

Tyler, I see they even want £35K for the WG. Just crazy. However I think this indicates that all resellers across the world will chance their arm on these new models in the next few months.

Out of curiosity, why would/will this be different?

I don't think these 2 models will have the demand the DaytonaC or even the BLNR had.

Circumstances not for discussion mean I did move from London to the South of France ( as you suggest from afar), but not by cause of any of the perceived problems you list in the UK. Every country has its strengths and weaknesses. To me, as a world citizen who loves Queen and Country, one of the things I am most proud of in the British culture is in general how inclusive a people we are, understanding of other cultures, countries and people.

Lets get back to beautiful watches made in Europe please
So you are replying to the OP by ripping our country, our policies, and our leaders. I hope you understand your reply is no better than Enjoythemusic's. Thought this was a watch forum???

Translation of the above post:

Its perfectly fine to attack other peoples country but but when they comeback against mine, that's out of order.

Ok, some of my sarc humor seemed to have missed the mark. So, this post lacks all humor.

Never said usa was better.

Ireland, i know.

England, too few Rolex and agree. Especially since the City Of London has bankers who will gladly pay a premium for what they want when they want. A few thousand extra here or there is what they make in a week, or a day, or perhaps a few hours. Have enjoyed much time in Singapore, massive wealth there and so is also challenging. We have a family home in an extremely wealthy area in the world and the local dealer has loooong lists, so a newbie walk-in or occasional customer might not have a chance in heck getting an early release highly desireable Rolex. We have read on this board how guys are "first on list with down payment" and yet get passed over to guys who are longstanding buyers spending hundreds of thousands at the AD.

Yes it stinks the UK gets too few timepieces to meet demand, yet secondhand dealers can ask whatever they want. Capitalism and all that. So when i see threads like this, i wonder if some people want socialism or costs controls like failing countries try (and fail) as their paper currency devalues. Personally am VERY happy that secondhand can command a premium, it is capitalism and free market at work.

They can only rip us off if we let them. I know, CPT Obvious, right?

Just trying to inject a little humor into a for some reason tense thread.

I love the UK by the way, and all my UK friends.

Someone will pay the premium and not flinch because they want it and have the money to pull the trigger.
I've come close to succumbing on the Daytona C but I just can't make the value proposition and outright robbery sit well in my feeble brain. I'm on an AD's list. They didn't tell me I had to be a previous customer or buy a DD to get a Daytona C. I'm naively waiting for the call because there is no other reasonable way to source the piece. If something else catches my eye, I may lose my interest in the Daytona C altogether.
