Flip the LN against a BLNR ?

Hi All,

Got myself a GMT LN few months ago and an opportunity has risen where someone is willing to exchange their BLNR (2016 model but little worn) against my LN. However he is asking also 1500 Euros.

Is it worth it or should I stick to my GMT LN in your according to your views ?

Already have a Hulk so the BLNR would make a nice couple.

I would say not worth it since you just purchased the LN and the BLNR would have been just ~500€ more.

Now, if you really wanted a BLNR, and in your area/situation a premium is a must to obtain it, then maybe the swap is worth it (maybe try go get closer to ~1000€).

The $1500 seems high

It is not worth it and the the BLNR is an overhyped watch IMO.

If the cash component was substantially lower, I'd be intrigued. You have to keep in mind your exchanging what sounds like a like-new LN for a for a BLNR that has some noticeable wear. The difficulty that comes with sourcing a BLNR isn't worth short-cutting at this kind of premium.

Why don't you try getting a BLNR from the AD that (I assume) sold you the LN and Hulk? Gives you some time to really think if you'd prefer that watch over your LN. Once it's available you can pick it up at MSRP, sell your LN, and come out ahead of this proposed trade.

Honestly, I think the Hulk and LN are a better pair than the Hulk and BLNR, but that just may be me, haha. I'd always feel compelled to wear blue with the BLNR, whereas I think the LN goes with anything.

Yes, BLNR coupled with LVc is a better choice.

An LN and 1500 gets a used BLNR? No. Walk away.

The BLNR is a stunner...and I very much enjoy mine however, the cash amount is a bit on the high side of things. If it was closer to 800-900 I could see it.

Thank you all for your input. I will stick with the LN and try to source a BLNR from an AD.

Hold on to your LN. A black dial - bezel watch is a staple. Especially since your other one is the LVc.

The BLNR is not overhyped, but I agree that the trade in question would be unwise.

I prefer the BLNR over the LN however, given what you said about the BLNR being a bit worn and considering your LN being in better condition, plus, you'd have to return 1500 Euros......

Man... I don't know.... REALLY tough decision !

One day, I'll head North and take the black as well !

But here comes a little teaser for you: I simply love the BLNR

I had a BLNR for about two years, sold it a few months back. There was a lot to love about that watch, but all of those things are found in the LN. If I were to buy another GMT IIc, I'd go LN. The price difference and availability would be bonus.

Keep the LN...a much more versatile and timeless piece, which you will soon realize once you outgrown your days of running around the house in your cape and Batman underwear. ;) I still wouldn't do the deal if it were an even trade...no way in hell since he also wants 1500 euros.

I would keep the LN unless you really want a BLNR. But that deal is too much disparity in price.

I find it strange people paying huge premiums on the secondary market for the blnr when Rolex themselves deem it only worth a couple of hundred quid more than the LN at list price, also the blnr is hell of a lot more available than what many believe! I remained on the waiting list for a blnr after I bought the LN and it was a whole 16 weeks of waiting before one arrived!

I will say no no. Yours is LN as in like new with your name on the card.
Too much to give for a half blue bezel.
