Rappers like Brandy but it won’t kill off Scotch. Rolex is in fine fettle. Wear and enjoy!

We're not talking about watches here at all. That's a pity!
I won't never buy a watch at 5 figures, but I can feel happy with someone who shows his new grail watch for 6 figures here!
It's about watches here for me and I don't care how many wear a watch like me.
That there are rich, lesser rich and poor people in the world I knew before.

Most of the TRF members live in a different world from 99% of the worlds population.

... and then you have posters complaining about all "the commoners" wearing Rolex and wanting to move to Patek ??

Yeah, no kidding... had I not checked to see the op's post count I'd of been certain he was a troll- though I suppose he very well still could be one... albeit a very committed one. Gotta be some of the most entitled bs I've read on this site; downright cringe-worthy.
OP needs to pony up and get into a Dufour, Daniels, or Smith if having something as common as a Rolex troubles him so much.

almost every song has a reference to patek or AP now thanks to future, young thug, migos, etc, so its not like those brands are as niche as they were maybe 10 years ago. considering the fact that hip hop is now the most streamed genre in the US the exposure these brands are getting is huge

they're moving onto referencing RM now though

Rolex density totally depends on where you are. In San Diego it was easy to see 10/day, just take a walk around Coronado for example.

Lol, I get out plenty. I've lived here all my life and have dined at most of the best restaurants in the bay area. I may not hang out at malls but I do business with some pretty prestigious and well known high tech firms. As mentioned, I'm just not seeing that many luxury watches. I've seen a few over the years but you'll find way more bare wrists or apple watches here in the Silicon Valley.

I feel that Rolex is now nowadays an entrance door for new enthusiasts willing to be introduced to the finer timepieces. So all in all, I think it's fair because Rolex is not cheap anyway. If you can afford it you should have the right to own one.

100% couldn’t have said it better. One of the reasons I like Omega and Tudor, if you see one in the wild, 95% chance they are into watches, you see a Rolex... I think of the OP.

I don’t see Rolex as exclusive at all! Try Debuthune or MGF that’s exclusive!

Sorry about the spelling!

I get the sense the DMV guy is wearing a fake.

Rolexes are everywhere, I see some high schoolers now days with some vintage subs, DJs. go to any club in major city. subs and GMTs frequently spotted.

It has never been exclusive, it has always been mainstream.

Here is a bit of cool story ...

Nobody knows who is taking their order at their local McDonalds ... perhaps the person taking your order could be the owner operator’s son or daughter.

So for anyone who stopped by at select North Jersey locations between 2004 and 2014 and saw some “kids at McDonald’s” wearing Rolex ... They were real.

A Rolex isn’t unattainable ... you want exclusive ? Get yourself a FP or something bespoke like that.

Definitely. A guy with a Tudor or Omega is probably into watches. Unfortunately it seems like the nouveau Rolex buyers are into brands more than anything and don't know a heck of a lot about watches (other than the MSRP and current asking prices on Chrono24). They're easy to spot on this forum, just go into any of the numerous Rolex v. Tudor threads.

I wonder wear all of these people were a few years ago when you could go in and buy pretty much anything (short of a stainless Daytona) and used Subs were an easy 20% back of MSRP.
