Kicking myself

I inherited a 1962 5512 back in 2012. Really had no interest in watches and also didn’t have the money for a refurb. Fast forward, I’ve been looking at purchasing a new Sub and started looking back in the vintage stuff. Needless to say, I shouldn’t have looked at the vintage stuff! lol They really seem to have appreciated over the last 7 or so years.

Excited to get a new one either way. I’m set of the Sub no date. Spoke to an AD on the phone yesterday and realized there will be a little of a wait.

We all pretty much all have a “lost love” at some point on this forum but life goes on, right? So welcome and enjoy this place

Welcome to the forum Todd. Did you sell the 5512?

Sounds like you sold the 5512. Oh, well. Almost all of us have parted with something we now regret.

Welcome; and enjoy the forum. Lots of knowledge and advice available!

I always advise to never sell your watches, especially Rolex. Too many people sell or trade their watches and always regret it.

I wasn’t too clear on that. Yes, I sold the 5512 back in 2012, and that’s why I’m kicking myself. Oh well, only money and a watch.

Forget the money, why didn't you keep it for the sentimental value alone?

It was inherited but had no real value (other than monetary) to me personally. Long story with a divorce involved lol

If there were only a “like” option! Could not agree more. If I can save one moron from making the same mistake as myself, this post was worth it haha

Focusing on the positive, I’ll be traveling tomorrow and Tuesday, but on Wednesday plan to stop by a couple local AD’s to discuss a new piece!

I’m sure the 5512 will be all but forgotten!

When you realise up can't pick up anything you want from any AD, the 5512 will be at the forefront of your mind
