in fairness, when i was looking the z blue milgauss was the only rolex i saw at almost every AD i dropped in at when i was traveling. i also figured a white one that they had since 2012 wasn’t going to suddenly walk away.

lesson learned!

Just got my white dial Milgauss Saturday, still had stickers on it, it was traded in at DeMesy, box and papers but no card. Paid $6250 wired. They have another one , not with stickers, but it looked nice. If interested let me know and I can let them know you’re looking. Pm me.

Z-blue is the nearest Rolex has to a blue dial steel sports model (they are at least professional, where blue 41mm DJ is not). If you can get one at retail now you shouldn’t get hurt I’d say.

Since I bought mine in April, I've only seen the one in an AD, which was Harrods... about a week later.

Seen a few in Dusseldorf for sale at various watch shops though.

I advise not to buy until you've tried it on. This is a very bulky and thick watch, definitely not a comfort fit..at least it wasn't for me, when I put it on my wrist. Immediately knew this wasn't going to work out.

I don't have this problem at all. I find it very comfortable (worn slightly loose) and not particularly top heavy either.

The Milgauss is one of the more chunkier, heavier models, due to the faraday cage it has built in.

Definitely try it on first.

I think it depends on the shape of one’s wrist and also where they wear it on the wrist. I share your sentiments that I have never felt that this watch is “top heavy” or “chunky”.

Love my white Milgauss. I bought my complete stickered set from a TS here for just under 7k about 10 months ago. You won't be disappointed and good luck with the search!

I gotta say, you are spot on identical to me in your watch preferences!!

I have owned the white Millgauss for just over a year!! I love everything about it!!

1. Love the thickness
2. Love the clean dial
3. Love the huge coroner at 12

The only watch I have pined for more than this is the zblue!!

Good luck with your search!!

Again, great to see some love for the Millgauss!

The Z-Blue from what I've been told is actually a hard watch to get now. I haven't seen one on display in over a year. You still see the occasional black gv.

The Z-Blue is actually one of the least produced Rolex professional models. Simply do a search on Chrono and Ebay and compare how many are available compared to other models. Tim Mosso also confirmed that it is a rare model and he handles tons of inventory.

Now, it's all supply vs demand thus it doesn't sell for a huge premium. When that thing gets discontinued though... Most people buying the Z-Blue Milgauss aren't caught in hype or interested in an "investment piece." Precisely why this model will be talked about as a why the hell didn't I buy it when I had the chance piece. People are recognizing this model so prices have gone up and are continuing to rise.

Rolex will always have a core looking GMT, Sub, Daytona, etc... This generation's Z-Blue Milgauss is unlike anything else and it's not getting replicated. Also, it's a crowd pleaser at 40mm, with presence attributes of a 6 digit but much more elegant proportions/curves that take elements from a 5 digit so it will age well. I appreciate a historical piece that is unique.

I’d say it doesn’t make the cut due to the bezel. The classic blue dial sports (even Lange has a model now) seems to be:

Blue dial (obvious enough)
Steel
40-42mm
Integrated bracelet (Milgauss looks close visually)
Simple bezel
Simple complication (date at most)

YM is close, but I think the bezel puts it into a different bracket. DJ41 has a shout too, but Rolex don’t put it in the professional class, so I think Z-blue is the closest Rolex bet right not.

My advice is just be persistent. While it is is becoming harder to find, it is not impossible. It took me 8 months to find, a dealer from ATL offered but refused to ship. A dealer in Stockholm had it but refused to offer VAT back, I found mine in Zurich, was a fantastic experience

I always thought the white dial looked the best , it has a real crisp look about it.
I'm thought it had been discontinued though ?
