Would you trade DJ41 + Panerai for a 2nd hand Daytona 116520?

Hi Guys,

Here’s mine current collection:

Would you trade Datejust 41 champagne dial with diamond marker on Jubilee(bought new by me)

And a Panerai PAM944 Luminor Due 3 days power reserve GMT(bought new by me)

For a full-set 2nd hand Daytona 116520 pictured here(D-serial/paper shown bought in 2005)?

Current collection: Rolex Datejust 41, Rolex Submariner 116610LV, Panerai Luminor Due PAM944

Do as your heart wants. Personally, I wouldn’t do that trade. The DJ41 you got is stunning

Speaking for myself I would not, but overall not a fan of the modern Daytona, yes its a good watch, but well over hyped for what it is but today many buy and wear the hype.

I would do it as I don't like diamonds on watches for men. Just make sure the Daytona is not too small for your wrist or you will end up selling it.

I'd rather keep the DJ and the Panerai.

I know the Due gets little love from the Paneristi and the DJ has diamonds, but I’ve never been Daytona fan so for me no.

That panerai is beautiful!
I’d do the DJ plus cash for the Daytona

The Pam is a 10/10.
The DJ is dependant on your taste.

The Daytona’s are overpriced at this time.

It’s a difficult decision for you.

For me I would keep the Pam and the DJ.

I want that 944.

Don’t flip it.......

I like the trio you've got, they cover a lot of bases but if you're going to get more mileage out of the Daytona then absolutely.

Tough choice, but I like your current lineup better. More variety. I can see how you’d want a black dial watch though. Maybe just wait and save up for one instead

No, don't trade, you have two great watches which compliment each other, which you bought new with your hard earned cash, why get rid of them to get a second-hand watch?

If you really want a Daytona, save and then you would have an awesome trilogy of watches.

Just my 10 cents worth of opinion, but it is your call.

If you’re not just getting a Daytona for the hype of having a Daytona (I think you’d regret that), and you truly like the 116520, I’d do it.

Are you considering the trade because you never bonded w the DJ and Panerai, or because you REALLY want the Daytona?

No. Don't care for the Daytona. Love the DJ, and am considering a Panarai. This trade would not work for me. Not that that helps you, but you asked.

I think it's almost always better to go for quality over quantity. I'd do the trade for sure.

If a dealer is suggesting this trade to you, then no. The dealer is only willing to do this trade because he can make money on both the buy and sell, hence you lose.

You are going to get creamed on the PAM and the DJ won't fetch what you paid.

Just buy the Daytona when you have the funds.
