UK Incoming....

Just as I was about to pull the trigger on a grey market black sub date, my AD Whatsapp’s me and says a buyer didn’t manage to pay and it’s mine if I want it.

This was about two weeks ago.... got my cousin to pick it up, claim the VAT on the way out of the UK and ended up bagging this for about $7,000 in the end. Absolutely love it and will definitely getting most of the wrist time this month lol

Finally got it today in Congo!!

For some background I only started recollecting since July and since then the AD has got me a blue dial YM and SD single red 50th anniversary.

Goes to show that as crazy as the situation in the UK is, maintaining a relationship with an AD and patience will work in the end.

Yes, totally agree, work with your AD build the relationship, the AD can also show you pieces that you hadn't considered and help you view watches on your wrist, my AD showed me a Submariner Date which was due to be collected the following day, the watch looked so much better when I held it compared to the view on the Rolex website or on a YT video.

So yes, the AD route and a good dose of patience for me.

Very nice indeed. Special as well since it's so difficult to obtain SS nowadays. Enjoy

My grail - I'm on the "list" and waiting for the call. Wish I'd never got rid of my first sub in the first place :(
