I already responded to this thread with my pre-owned sub at +6 sec per day. Now with my new Sub that I picked up last week I have only gained 3 sec in 7 days!!! Thats, what, about 0.5sec per day?? Incredible!

My new ladies datejust (bought a few days ago) is gaining +7 seconds per day. But I've been told to test it over a month, because they can go up and down depending on how active you are. I'll just put my feet up more often.

Try resting your watch at night vertical crown up might lose a few seconds overnight

My GMT II loses about 4-6 seconds a month. I consider that to be quite decent.

Hi padi, I tried that, unfortunately it didn't make any difference. Oh well, maybe it's just going through a 'running in' period, being new, and will settle down over the next few weeks.

You haven't had the watch long enough. Accuracy will change slightly over time. After service, my Sub lost 6 secs a day in the first week.. Now it's down to a second. Bizarre! Wait a month!

Fresh out of the box my new Explorer was a screamer +7 to 8 seconds a day, it never settled down and I had it regulated to a + 1 second per day. By comparison my new Oris really screams at no less than +12 seconds per day and my new JDM Seiko is -3 seconds per day.

My New GMT IIc is very accurate.

After one week old my new GMT IIc did seatle and since than it keeps the same second every day, when it comes to be less than a second faster I put it up during the night, when it comes to be slower less than a second I let him face up during the night. It is like this for two months and never had to set the time again. Another thing that did bother me was the date changing it was first at 00:05 and now it changes date at 00:02, I hope that it could be a little more accurate but by some professional opinion it is normal.
Best regards for all of you.

I have three Rolexes, a Sub-c, a Milgauss black dial and a SD 16600. The Milgauss and the Sub-c both arrived from the factory running +/-0 and stay dead-on for weeks. The SD I bought from a diver, it ran +6 when i got it, RSC regulated it for free, now it runs +1.

Although some may disagree, I have found that every Rolex I've had with the Parachrom spring has come from the factory running +/-0, including 2 Daytonas, and the above Sub and Millie. How they do this I have no idea.

My advice to you is stop worrying about your watch its fine and just get a good nights sleep. And as long as date changed by morning your watch is fine its mechanical and not electronic.Just wear your watch in good health for the next few decades thats far more important than worrying when date changes or a second or so either way I can assure you.

A finer mechanical watch that gains or loses about six to nine seconds a day or about a minute a week has a breathtaking precision of over 99.99 per cent. This is very high precision, given the fact that the movement is constantly affected by the earth's gravity, metal expansion and contraction, temperature variations, subtle changes in lubrication and friction, shocks, and so on.The fact is that no mechanical watch made will keep perfect time, very close yes but perfect no.And if any mechanical watch performs consistently inside the CO SC spec of -4+6 seconds a day don't think anyone could ask anymore from any purely mechanical watch

I have a new Sub C and it is keeping time at -.4 sec a day. I.e., losing 2.8 sec per week which I am thrilled with.

Just had my air-king serviced and was told it is gaining about 4 secs per day.... which is normal. That is 4 seconds in 86,400 or 99.995% accurate.... not bad for a mechanical watch!

That is remarkable performance, no question. Of course it was -5 seconds from its known error, which was a few seconds a day, but the error had only changed by 5 seconds in that time. Still not bad for the 1700s!

I set my DD to an updated windows clock 23 days ago and haven't touched it since.

It's now 14 seconds fast, which comes out to about .608 seconds fast per day. The watch was originally purchased in 1999, worn little by first owner.

My 16610, 3.5 years old, has been + 6 to 10 seconds per day since I got it. This is fine with me. If it was - 1 second per day I would have it regulated. I cannot stand a watch that loses time.
