Odd Bezel?? Vintage Oysterquartz Day Date

I have recently seen this vintage day date oysterquartz however the bezel is throwing me off as it seems like a Turn-o-graph “thunderbird” bezel.

Could anyone confirm this?

The photo is blurry, but the dial also looks a bit wonky to me. Do you have a better photo?

Wrong bezel. Looks original for an auto Datejust.
Wrong dial. Possibly not an original.

Looks like some original parts put together in a Franken watch.

One bad photo is a challenge.
Regardless, yes that is a Turn-O-Graph (Thunderbird) bezel that’s been installed.
It looks like an OysterQuartz dial but the photo makes the case look a bit over polished as mentioned and the bracelet looks worse to me.
Definitely a watch very tampered with so buyer beware!

I believe those 5 digits bezels are most likely interchangeable which means it is possible for this combination. However, Rolex never made this style and just somebody did it maybe to their liking.

Not sure about the oysterquartz, but IMO one can't simply exchange TOG and regular 16000-series DJ bezels without significant modification. I recall my watchmaker doing this for a client who had lost the bezel on his TOG and wasn't willing to pay the price of a replacement. He modified a 16000 bezel on a lathe to fit, I don't recall the details of the modification. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the bezel of the OP watch had been glued on.

The dial says day date and it has a day aperture.

Seems like a bad fake for me. Nothing looks good:

- the dial has arabic numbers, which I have never seen on this version. The only rare dial which looked like this was installed on a pyramid version.
- the bracelet looks a scam
- the case is heavly damaged and overpolished
- the watch winder button is heavily damaged and not even looks original.

I think it's either a fake or survivor from the junkyard. Do not buy it, there are several better looking OQs are up for sale on the internet.
