DSOTM or Pam 233?
Posted this in the Omega forum too. Figured I'd get both fans opinions.
OK, long story short. I've tried Rolex a few different times and after a few months, for whatever reason the brand just doesn't stick. So I'm considering selling my subc date. Two of the watches I've lusted over are the 233 and DSOTM. I've tried the 233 on before, and it sits nicely on the wrist. I love Panerai, I have a 000 and lots of straps. I also love Omega. I've tried on a Speedy 9300 before and also, I thought it fit my wrist nicely. Right now I own a Speedy Pro. I would like the date and the auto movement as opposed to my current speedy. I love winding a pam, not so much the speedy, where I find the tiny crown a bit of a chore. I've wanted the 233 for a few years, while the Omega, just since it's release (a year or less? So does anyone have either or both that can chime in? Pics are always fun, but your thoughts might help me mull things over. Cheers and thanks for reading

Get the DSOTM. While the 233 is a stunner, I find it difficult to wind. Arthritis sucks.

Thanks Kilyung, I value your opinion . At least I'd only have to wind it once a week

DSOTM would be my suggestion ..a huge DSOTM fan but I do agree that the 233 is a nice consideration.

DSOTM for me have had pams. Recently acquired a DSOTM and think that it's truly a unique piece. Love mine

I say get the Pam 233, because you have been lusting after it for a long time and you know how it feels on your wrist. If you get the DSOTM first you still will have that itch for the 233.
From an availability point of view, it would make since to get the one that would be harder to purchase in the future.

In a vacuum, 233 + classic Speedy. But, since you already have a Zero, I suppose it's a toss up?

If I got the DSOTM I'd likely sell my Speedy. I'm leaning 233. If I do that, then next year I can upgrade my Speedy to a SS 9300 version and sort of get the best of both worlds, or close enough. That's my thought right now, though it could change overnight,

DSOTM or Pam 233?
DSOM! I'm thinking of maybe trading my DSSD for one, but I haven't made up my mind about it yet. The 233 is nice though, but I think the Omega would be the better choice here since you already own a PAM. Good luck with your decision!

Matt!! Are you crazy? DSSD for the Omega? You just got it ! You will regret it. But adding the DSOM later is a good choice, I just wouldn't let go of my DSSD for it.

Tony, I would go for the 233. If you don't, you will never be satisfied as you have been lusting after it for some time. Panerai lusting is one of those things that if you don't take care of it, it just keeps on growing and growing until you finally do it. I like your plan of adding the DSOM later down the road. As well, having the 000 you said you have lots of straps already, and these straps you can put on the 233.

ha ha. Lots of love for the DSOTM here, understandably! I thought this being the Panerai forum the Pam would win out.

I am crazy, but that's besides the point! ;) I have been considering it, but haven't made any final decisions. I know that I'm not ready to pull the trigger on anything yet, though I probably will end up with an Omega some point down the road. Toss up between Dark Side and Liquid Metal POC.

DSOTM gets my vote. Sorry I don't have both to weigh in my opinions. The DSOTM is a different breed here plus I think its a nice addition if u don't have a ceramic watch.

So have you made up your mind yet flipping your DSSD for it, Matt?
It is indeed a very mesmerizing piece. When it first came out, I wasn't so sure until i actually saw it in person. The details are stunning. |

TBH, the thought crosses my mind from time to time, but its nothing I dwell on. I am really perfectly happy with my DeepSea and it would have to take a lot to get rid of it. That Omega is one of the very few that I would ever even consider it.

Thanks guys. I think after sleeping on it a couple days I'll probably hold on to the sub and either save for my next watch or sell something else to help fund (whatever it is I might want - hell I want so many). I think I just get bored too quickly sometimes, and usually prefer straps as opposed to bracelets so I can change it up once in a while. I'd do this with the sub, but haven't really seen many subs on straps that I like.

Dtsom is amazing.
Had one. Don't regret selling, but can see getting it back someday. The pam is a much tougher watch. I like that. Also, pams are different. I like that too
