Incoming!!

I’ve drooled over this watch since 2005, but never got one until this last weekend. I love the military look of pilot watches, the long highly visible hands, and large dial. Also, it’s so different from everything else in my collection so gives me a nice change. And like John Mayer said to HODINKEE, you can place it on your desk and use it like a clock. It’s an impressive watch and I am happy to finally have it in my collection.

Congrats I'm just staring at my 5009-01 right now! I also watched the John Mayer youtube vid and had to get one (bought it a month ago).

I love the size and the crown is perfection

Congratulations

It’s a solid watch. I wasn’t a believer until I got to live with one. It’s one of those watches you have to wear and fiddle with to appreciate.

Thanks guys! I agree, there is something very special about this watch. I see so much aviation history when I look at the dial and crown.
