What's with speedmasters from Japan on eBay?

Hey all, I'm considering purchasing a speedmaster (one of the newer 3570.50). Anyway, I notice on eBay a large representation of seemingly like new examples for the best prices. They are all from Japan. Is this something to worry about? Anyone know what the situation is with that? Should I steer clear? Thanks in advance for your advice!

The Japanese love watches and are great flippers for the latest and greatest. Plus, they take good care of their watches so pre-owned from Japan are usually in great condition.

I bought my first Speedy Pro from Jungo (jmryshi on eBay) back in 2004 and it arrived in mint condition. He is in the business of importing pre-owned watches in bulk from Japan and stands behind all his watches. In addition to Jungo, these two have also been found to be reliable: sabashioyakiz1 and kaberui.

I recentlhy bought on eBay from bigg86969 for my son. It is a speedy moonphase. Gorgeous and in mint condition. I have no doubt as to its authenticity. Pretty good price, too. I also bought from sabashioyakiz1. I trust both sellers. They both seem to specialize in Omega and sometimes a Breitling. I watch both of them and sabashioyakiz1 usually has more available.

Those lucky Japanese. They always get the best special editions and cool colors for products we never get.

Even Rolex have Japan a special edition green ToG.

Yes indeed. I am a proud owner of that 300 only produced TOG. I take great care of my watches that I buy here. There are so many deals to be had here as well.

Or Rolex from Neverland :D

Seriously though, you can find significant discounts on most OMEGAs, even the Speedy PRO, from all markets.

There just happen to be lots of WIS from Japan, so the Moonwatch sells well over there.

I live in Tokyo and bought a 145.022 in great condition from Jackroads for a great price. I ask about the story behind the watch, was told the Japanese owner traded in for a newer auto speedy. They are really into watches here and the Speedmaster and Daytona seem to be the most desired.
Cheers

I have bought quite a few watches off of eBay from international sellers and have never paid any duties or custom fees.

Most notably, this 18ct. Speedmaster I purchased from a seller in Belgium:
