gmt sounds

i know this probably seems like a simple question , has to do with the sounds my gmt IIc makes. mine lays crown down on a bedstand (wood) about 16 inches from my head on a rolex soft cloth , i can hear it easily. when i push the crystal firmly against my ear , i can hear a variety of sounds raising and lowering in intensity , one sound is almost like a tuning fork , can anyone tell me more , how many sounds and what are they?
