Help a newbies brian. I did a search and came up with too many threads. Whats doe COSC refer to? Thanks guys!

That's right Larry, and I think that each watch so designated must have had its movement so submitted and tested and passed.

This does not necessarily mean that the accuracy of the movement will be superior than a non-cosc watch, but it is just an additional matter of quality control.

And Rolex was the first to be so certified.

I saw a table recently which showed that Rolex received 2X more COSC certifications that the next closest Omega.

Also if you added Nos 2 to 6, their total would still not equal Rolex.

Of the top 10, U Nardin had the lowest number around 12000 per year.
