I want an omega...

Hey all. I currently have a TT skydweller which I absolutely love.

I got hit with the watch bug hard lately and all I’ve been doing is researching watches. At first I wanted a speedy sapphire but after more searching, I really like the seamaster 44mm chrono.

Can anybody tell me what I can expect to pay for one? The msrp is around $7500 but I know omega can be obtained at a discounted rate.

I have a large build and a 7.5-7.75” wrist so I can handle the large watch size. I definitely want a stainless watch for a more everyday sporty piece.

Also, how is resale on Omega? Especially such a big piece like this one. Would I be better off getting the same dial in the
regular 42mm seamaster? I willingly admit that I do get bored over time and like to sell and buy other pieces.(unfortunately I can’t afford them all at once lol) If I buy discounted, how much can I expect to lose, should I sell it? Thanks.

I'd expect to pay from an AD about $6,000, full price if you go to the OB.

You'll get about $3500-4000 when you sell.

You looked at the planet ocean , there’s some good discounts to be had , well in the uk anyway and the watch really is in my opinion a step up from the SMP although that’s still a really good watch ... just a thought ,,,

Went to Jared today to try some on. They had black dial or blue dial. Both gorgeous but for some reason the all black has a wonderful glow to it. Almost like a mirror. I am keeping my eyes open for one. Browsing I found some listed a few months ago brand new for 5500 so we’ll see if I get lucky.

Which do you guys like? Took some photos next to my sky D on the opposite wrist.

I prefer the black and I think it's an awesome reference if you are happy with the size. Looks great on your wrist. I have a Planet Ocean Chrono and the one bummer about that piece is the thickness. If memory serves, the 300M chrono is a bit thinner and should wear less top heavy. An OEM rubber strap and deployant, if available, would be a great add-on with this piece if available.

Definitely happy with the size. I have a big build and I thought it looked great. The smaller 42mm seamaster looked small on me.

I’d go for the America’s cup. That watch looks incredible. I can’t swing the size and thickness, but otherwise would be dying to get this one.

For seamasters, I understand many's preference of the blue, but once you try both black and blue, the black's glow will really win you over, based on exp.

I love the black (and own it) - but I'd never buy one of these "new" for MSRP. They can be had regularly in the $4's (or even slightly under) - which then makes them a pretty darned good buy and you won't get hurt too bad if you get bored with it! I also have my eye on the new white/blue one, and when they are available at reseller prices might seriously consider one.

Since you already have a black dial Sky D, I'd go blue.

Prefer the black for that watch over the blue or grey.

Buy it preowned and you should be able to sell it for what you paid for it down the road if you fall out of love with it.

I would not buy it new unless you got a really good discount.

I’m being offered 30 percent of from greys no tax since out of state. That’s roughly 5200. Haven’t seen many listed pre owned.

Sometimes the classifieds here are good, sometimes the Reddit lists, or WUS, etc..

Offer $5,000 even. Either way 30٪ off sounds pretty good.

I just got myself a Speedy and tried the model you're considering and did liked them a lot. The size makes it quite a fun watch. However, with the fact that your skydweller is in black dial I'd take the blue as you're covered on the formal attire and this would be more of casual watch!

Whenever resale is a factor, which I know it is - bought my Speedy on this premises, I recommend you go pre-owned from a reputable source. Resale on Omega is not super bad, but not super great either.

I'd go blue for a Seamaster. And i do like the Americas Cup one. That looks stunning. I do like a bit or red in a blue dial.

If you want a diver chronograph I think planet ocean would be cutting edge. It’s big bulky masculine. Don’t count on resale but you can get less 20%.

I started by trading my skydweller for the white dial. Which was what I originally always wanted anyhow.

Was offered the omega at $5250 brand new. Still didn’t settle on one. Although I think I will go with black when I do. The ceramic black looks like graphite. It’s stunning. Plus now my skyD is white so I won’t have 2 black dials. Lol
