Icon5 Bracelets: 93150 vs 78360

Here's a question: What's the difference between the 93150 vs 78360 bracelets?

I realize that the deployment clasps are different, but is there any significant difference between the bracelets themselves?

Which do you prefer and why?

I'm looking at putting one on an early 70's 1675 GMT.

Any opinions and/or information would be appreciated.

The clasp is longer on the 93150 so it can hold the divers extension and its meant for a Submariner, the 78630 would be more period correct for a GMT IMO. The links are the same, except the 93150 has brushed edges and the 78630 has polished edges, make sure you get the correct end links for the GMT you have, it makes a difference.

The solid link 93150 is usually found on Submariners or Sea Dwellers (the flip-lock clasp with diver's extension was developed for these models and was originally introduced on the folded link 9315 predecessor). The solid link 78360 is more appropriate for a GMT. Someone else might be able to advise re: end pieces for this Oyster bracelet. I'm more familiar with the folded link 7836...

The links of the bracelets, per se, are extremely similar, and in fact interchangeable for utilitarian purposes. Indeed, my Tudor Sub 79190 is currently on a hybrid bracelet composed of a 93150 clasp and 78360 links (fortunately only cost me $100).

The 7836 and 78360 were for GMT's and Explorers.
A 1960's GMT would have had a 7836 (folded link) originally, but a 78360 would be the correct replacement.

Here is a handy little chart for bracelets and end pieces or flush fits for older watches that's been kicking around for a while.

That's a great chart to find what will fit what, or what typically came with what, and some interchangeability ideas...

But it does have limitations as it is not the Rolex Reference book for options available to each model..

GMT Masters were offered with the 93150 and extension clasp through the 90's and possibly earlier..

I have GMT's on all three bracelets...Jubilee's, 93150's, and the latest 78790A's, and I like them all.... The only thing I would trade any one of them out for would be the Daytona 78490 and that killer clasp..

I agree Mark but a 1960's GMT could very easily have worn a 7206 or a 6636 rivet rather than the slightly later (late 60's/early 70's) 7836.
But as the OP has a 70's GMT - I think you'd be spot-on with the 7836.

Hi Sir,

I have a 16570 today, where im missing a bracelet. I have option of buying a 93150 with 501B end links. I belive I have seen somewhere that this is fitted to a 16570 but from the chart is seems it will not fit.

Can anyone confirm? :) Thanks.

I am wearing that exact combination today. The 93150 was offered as an option on earlier 16570 models (mine is 1993). I did see a more official list of bracelet options included in another thread which I cannot locate at the moment, but I was just in an AD getting an extra link and I feel sure they would have said something if it was a problem-
