Dial Size for Day Date 40 and DDII

i've done a bit of searching here and the web and can't quite find an exact answer to this.

but it seems the dial size would be the same yes ?

any help much appreciated

That is a great question, as the case on the DDII is 1mm larger the dial does happen to maintain the same size bewteen both. This is based off my own knowledge and could not find a definitive answer online as well! I hope you found this helpful Rosco!

The DDII has a 3156 movement, the DD40 has the 3255 movement, the dials are not interchangeable.

thank you. i'm kinda curious though, is it not just the center hands that interact with the movement ? i would have guessed the dial is just a matter of size for this watch ?

No it is not the centre.
The dial of the 31xx movements is attached with dial feet, the dial of the 32xx movements is attached by clipping on the side of the movement, you cannot switch them up.
