The first MARVEL/AP Superhero is?

Gary I think you missed your calling in life. You clearly have a talent for watch design.

Straight from the AP skunk works, alas I can take no credit for the design.

42mm Concept
Black Panther as the Marvel theme
Claws feature prominently
Black and Purple colour scheme
$150-200k price point
250 limited edition
All pre-sold
Formal release Saturday 10th
Listed on Chrono24 Sunday 11th

So, this thread is over, we now know everything...I'll start a new topic:

"The second MARVEL/AP Superhero is?"

and we can carry on there

In all seriousness, speculation is GOOD, cheating on a crossword puzzle not so much.
I am fine with speculation, but disclosing what you know from a private preview where you were asked not to is not speculation.

yep i agree, speculation and guessing is fun, but knowingly breaking trust to share what you were told/shown in confidence is not okay

But has it been leaked though? It's more like people are giving teasers about what they have seen. No one has disclosed pictures of actual watch. Obviously some people here have a close relationship with AP and this helps garner interest in the new release....black panther or not

Boohoo, shall we all feel bad for AP? If they did not want this to leak, they would not preview it to many VIPs. They clearly care more about $ than VIPs breaking their trust.

not really, don’t think this affects them much. still doesn’t make it okay tho. i think it is more likely to affect other clients who may have had opportunities like this in the future but leaks like this might make AP stop doing them

AP know there will be leaks, they rely on them. Plus they feed the speculation by taking out bill boards with HUGE clues.

I think we are all adult enough to answer to our own consciences. Each to their own, no judgments from me. But, I'd prefer NOT to be told the answer, rather I like the thrill of the chase, once caught I could care less.

Some of those comments are just funny. These leaks are on purpose and its done the same in different industries. Apple does these leaks on purpose to their products.

AP Private viewing does not say you cannot share info with your friends. There is no NDA or Confidentiality agreement to sign. AP shows it to their VIPs knowing that they will talk to their circle of watch collectors and information will trickle down.

If some of you dont want to know about this model before the release then dont read what is being posted on here. The rest should be thankful that we share latest information.

Marvel co-branding in an AP watch does not speak to me. Just like the 007 James Bond Omegas. It just feels like it looses the luxury feel of the watch and the brand is cheapened. However, I am really intrigued on the marketing spin. I don’t see the relationship yet aside from garnering views from the super young population and getting more eyes on the Royal Oak.

Am I missing something?

This. Great explanation. Im not in the circle of trust yet but I’m looking forward to be. No need to hate, just find a way to be in the know.

If I am asked not to reveal then I don’t reveal any details or discuss. Simple as that. In my book it is called integrity. Clearly others feel differently.

AP probably does it on purpose, words of mouth.

If you want things to be highly confidential, don't show them to anyone. Once you start showing to customers round after round, things will get leaked one way or the other, very typical. Those who got to view first aren't always VIP. You are merely a good customer. If you are truely a VIP as stated, you will be shown things that none of us here have a single clue about it and most likely only a few individuals get to experience.

This is just the way the system works.

The topic here is about marvel character and about AP's collaboration with Marvel.

If some members have nothing to add but complain about other people sharing what they know then just refrain from commenting or better yet, create new topic about what needs to be done so that info would not be shared.

I, for one, can't wait to see this. I'm not important enough yet to have seen it already like some here, and that's fine. I'm patient.

I just hope that if I like it, I can still get one. I know. I'm hopeful.

Jolly good for those that kept their secret, pat on the back to them, to those with loose lips, I'm sure no ships were sunk.

This thread was supposed to be 'seriously fun', but it's just serious now, more fun please.

Unless those people signed an NDA to see the product then they are free (guilt free even) to share that they saw as they see fit. AP does not "own" their brains and their memories. Even if they were to "give their word" that this was confidential that's completely on them, after all it's just a watch and nothing more than an expensive object at the end of the day.

They were not revealing someones deepest personal details or secrets.
They were not violating something like attorney-client privilege
They were not someones therapist violating that persons trust.

Everyone chill, it's fine.

Professionally, we've dealt with product launch leaks for decades. We still fight it, but only to reduce it, not to eliminate. In fact, we often write internal announcements expecting they will be leaked, so we write them carefully as a result.

Anyone who shares with anyone outside a small circle (or internal employees) is delusional if they think they can prevent a leak.
Exactly, do you see Rolex showing their new watch off to VVIP's? Nope. Why? Because they know it'll Leake 30 min later.

This is what happens when you have "viewing parties" for a new watch and you make journalists sign embargos but not customers in attendance.

There is no issue with the "leaks" they're not even leaks, they're just talking about what they saw.

Now if they signed an NDA that said they would not disclose, that's another story.

Good luck trying to punish that person since it's pretty easy to make a throw-away account on most watch forums.

And just like that today AP already spilled the beans so no harm no foul.

Vibranium is associated with Black Panther.

That looks like it was made by a kindergartener (or at least someone with kindergarten-level powerpoint skills), starting from the AP slogan.
