AP Royal Oak Rose Gold Watches

Hey y'all, I am looking to expand beyond my stainless Rolex collection and know that a stainless royal oak is probably going to be impossible.

Is the same true for precious metal versions, rose gold for example? Or is it similar to Rolex where discounts can be had on precious metal versions?

Not too long ago RG models were discounted on the secondary. Depends on the model of course, but the odds are it will still be at a premium.

none of the PM rolexes are getting discounted now also, so very unlikely to get a gold royal oak at a discount. expect premiums

The men’s RO sizes go for premium whereas the women’s sizes generally have some discount in grey.

Gold chronons retail in the 60s and sell in the 90s in the grey market. Definitely no discounts on gold royal oaks.

Thanks for the feedback! I haven't bought a watch since 2013, but I did get offered a discount on a Rose Gold President Rolex in March 2020 from an AD so I wasn't sure if there was still some leeway there. Sounds like there will be no such luck on AP RO. Thank you!

I think you're a year or two late for discounts on 41mm gold ROs. Asking prices for a 15500OR on C24 are about ~20% above MSRP, so a discount seems unlikely. Getting a Jumbo, Openworked or QP in gold at MSRP seems even less likely.

For reference, Ive got a 15500OR RG bracelet and Ive received offers from dealers at around US$65k. Love the piece too much to sell but ridiculous premiums are starting to come to Gold Pieces having carried over from the gold Daytona craze that’s been happening recently.

March 2020 and now is completely different.

You can check the price on secondary market.

March 2020 was peak pandemic so probably a perfect time to buy. Nicely done.

No Rolex PM models are discounted now. Full MSRP or above everywhere.
