Quick Change Strap System

Hi folks,

My apologies if theres another active thread about this; the most recent one I've found is from 2014.

I'm curious if the issues with the quick change strap system has been resolved in recent years. I'm very tempted by a few new models (the PAM 1313 and 1314 especially), but the idea of needing to shell out 3 grand for a recasing due to a broken quick release button is giving me pause. Given the number of models that now have this feature and the lack of recent reports online, is it safe to assume Panerai has this under control?

Hypothetically, if this issue were to occur, could I simply swap in a spring bar to continue using the watch? I've seen that recommended on some threads, but never followed up on. That would be the equivalent of using duct tape to fix the bumper on a Mercedes, but at least I'd have a usable watch...

Thanks!

Never a issue for me for 8 years. The system has been flawless. It’s the best strap changing system I’ve ever used and I wish it was on everyone of my watches.

I’ve recently sold a 233 from 2006 which worked perfectly in my hands for 3 years and with weekly strap changes.

No issues as well. I had actually never heard of this before.
