Interview and Hiring Manager Wearing Daytona

Had an interview on Zoom this afternoon and the hiring manager was wearing a Daytona 116500LN. I was immediately sold on the job! It is not too often you get a good view of somebody's watch during a Zoom call but his watch was front and center. Did not feel it was appropriate to bring it up but you bet I will at some point.

I enjoy and approve of the snob appeal associated with Rolex watches, but I am baffled about the being sold on a job because the interviewer wore a Daytona.

That does not seem particularly pertinent.

Glad somebody has a sense of humor!

Interesting aspect of the job is that the company is based in Switzerland and the guy I spoke to now lives in CA but is Swiss.

I would take that job only if the Daytona had a only meteorite dial. Can't even think of working for anyone with a mediocre Daytona.

Given the number of folks that have cringed on this, I think y'all in the minority here. Have fun.

At least you know he digs watches! That’s a point of connection right there.

You should start the conversation by giving him compliments : nice watch!

Better than the working for some place where you’re not “allowed” to have nice watches, or an expensive car or whatever.
