Rolex CPO OysterQuartz Question?

A concern for Rolex OQ owners (or potential owners) is the future serviceability of an OysterQuartz.

Let us say a Rolex CPO OQ languishes at a retailer for three years (not impossible) and then purchased by a brave soul.

If something goes amiss with the OQ the owner would be submitting the watch under warranty (if still under warranty) 4-5 years since the watch entered the CPO program; would serviceability, repair etc. be of concern?

I would think the warranty begins counting the day you buy it!

I have confirmation from Rolex Geneva that CPO warranty starts the day you buy the watch. So if you OQ stays 1 year in a drawer, and you buy it, it won't have lost 1 year of warranty. Don't worry.

Now, regarding OQ. I have one and had to pay a hefty price for a full service and motor.
Know two things: Battery change is free, for life (at least it is for me). I need to do this every 2-3 years.

Parts, there are few of them, and yes some of them are esoteric. I was told not to worry, unlike with AP, which has no possibility to repair old quartz ROs.

"Not to worry," as in "our plan is to make OQ parts forever"? I'm considering an OQ but always assumed it was a huge gamble because there's an imminent parts crisis.

(See what I did there?)

Please let me clarify my OP; yes, I understand the CPO warranty commences on the date of purchase; my question was more related to the feasibility of the OQ even being able to be repaired under warranty as time moves on.

e.g. Rolex OQ enters CPO program in 2025 and languishes at a retailer for three years, then purchased in 2028 and then requires service under warranty in 2029; is there any concern regarding the availability of parts? What if the OQ could not be repaired under warranty?

Attrition rate is probably low enough that they forecast enough capacity for a few decades.

Is it really a possibility to purchase an OQ with the CPO program? If yes, I would sell mines in the CPO program and immediately buy back for the free warranty.

I assume so as I have seen both OQ Day-Dates and OQ Datejusts on Rolex CPO websites.

Thanks, didn't realise this till now. So it seems, I should check the minimal margin of the CPO...

That is nice to know as I have DD OQ. I do get free battery changes too.
