Pen Collections - Do you insure yours?
For those that have large collections of precious writing instruments, do you insure them? What type of insurance do you use to protect them?

No. I do not, but I should.
This would mean getting an appraisal and that may be difficult.

Neither do I. Not a large collection, but keep them in a 1/2 ton home safe.

There are some practical difficulties:
1. who can evaluate and give a sort of correct apprasial of my pen collection? 2. does the "box and papers" count towards the evaluation? as the box/papers always add at least a couple hundred bucks to each pen (most of mine are limited editions - the box/papers for regular edition isn't worth that much). Currently I just itemise my pens with serial numbers (take photos) and give the insurance company my evaluation or the price I paid for them, they are under my home content insurance. |
