Good results at london RSC changing 16700 bezel

My wife bought a 1988 16700 a few months ago which had a Coke bezel on it, which we discovered was the wrong bezel for this reference.

As people here said, it doesn’t really matter. However she started to warm to the Pepsi bezel which is what it would have originally had (or black), so we decided to take it to the RSC in st James and they switched the bezel to a new Pepsi for £55.

We were allowed to keep the Coke bezel and the little tin that the bezel comes with, they provided a new travel pouch and a 2019 hardback brochure. I thought £55 was terrific value, and the watchmaker said to us please come in any time if we want to put the coke back in complimentary if she feels like changing it back, or if she wants a black one as well they’ll put one of those in if she feels like a change in the future. Very good service and very reassuring news

Here she is now with the Pepsi. Wife is happy

It's interesting they gave you back the coke! 16700 is my favorite reference, pepsi or black. And RSC rocks, no matter what many people think.

Fair play, customer service at RSC in St James is just top notch. Every technician and staff member I have spoken to have just been the friendliest, politest and most helpful people you could meet.

Did the exact same thing last week at the NYC RSC

I have a 16710 that had a Coke insert (original to the watch) but wanted to have a Pepsi insert installed. Received a similar treatment from the NYC RSC. They were pleased to install the blue/red and give me back the Coke in it's plastic case and a new carry/storage pouch. $75 +tax out the door. Couldn't have been easier.

The London RSC is always outstanding

It’s a real pity that they are going to close in about 4 weeks from now.

The good news is that they will reopen about 9 months later having been fully refurbished.

Bezel looks sharp! (But that service pouch is the real gem here.)

Yes indeed!

They have my explorer 1 and 2 which are in for a full service before I put them up for sale. I have confidence in their work based on everything positive based on previous reviews. Nothing but good news comes out of st James

May I ask if they did it while you wait or do I have to leave the watch with them for a number of weeks? Oh and was it walk in or did you have to pre-order it?

looks great!!

Of course, the 16700 never came with red/black so I applaud you for making your watch "correct".

Great looking watch!! I love to see it as it was intended although I must say there really is nothing wrong with having it as coke if that's what you like. My favorite for mine when I had it was as a black bezeled piece. It looked like it was right in my eye.
