I was blessed to see a CB in person recently (of course I didnt have chance to buy it) and it was gorgeous. Funny thing is my 5164a just came in last week along with some lucky guy's 5711 blue, so I had enough memories to compare the movements (went with my 15202)
Overall, comparing movement's finishing itself CB>5711>15202. AP and PP are both great but FPJ is just at another level.
Hopefully I will get some unexpected good news from FPJ boutique soon and lets do a comparison side by side.
I have a 5167a, 15202, fpj chrono bleu. the finish is beautiful on each, ill try to get comparison pic tomorrow

Can’t wait to see the pics.
Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to take pics for cb and 5711 movement because of ref#.
And a better portion of movement versus case makes cb looks better imho.

I might do a caseback pic when I get home tonight, but I need to edit out the serial numbers, here is a frontal shot for now:

Wait Time

As a quick update, I was told the waitlist for the CB is now over 3 years (50 person+) at the LA boutique, and not much better, and possibly longer, at other boutiques.

I received mine after approximately 6 months but the list was significantly shorter even earlier 2018.

OMG that is incredible! Such fine detail work! Love how FPJ chose to use smaller tool, and thus far more effort, on these bits

Wow, that is fairly quick.
May I ask when did you place your order?
Also, if CB was the first FP Journe you owned from their collection?
When I was registering for waiting list, my current collection etc matters I believe.

Lucky you and congrats!

I reserved early this year when i was planning a June trip to Tokyo. After about a month from placing a deposit, my order arrived. But my trip got postponed to October. So they sold what arrived and by the time i got to tokyo in October there was another one.

Yes my first. Hopefully not last.

Tantalum vs. Stainless Steel

Does anyone know if the Tantalum case is more scratch resistant vs. stainless steel cases that's used in most other watches? Thanks.

After wearing mine for about 6 months there are no scratches that I have noticed.

Tantalum is a very hard metal and the dark color does well to conceal any light marks.

I agree the Tokyo Boutique seems to be faster.

I put an order in April this year and received it in June.
At the time I was #9 on the list.
The sales person said people ahead of me could not take the order so I had the opportunity to pick it up.

Entire conversation was done via email, no deposit required, and this is the first watch I've bought from Journe or anyone for that matter. The CB is my first watch!

Submitted my application to the LA boutique a month back - was told there are about 40 individuals on the list ahead of myself.

Fell in love with the Chronometre Souverain I tried on in the mean time ... still have my fingers crossed that the CB list moves quicker than expected and can treat myself to both in the near future!

If you go and sign up at multiple boutiques it does not increase your chances of securing a CB. Each boutique submits their list to Geneva so that Geneva has ONE global list (and they scrub multiple instances of the same name - this is so FPJ actually has an accurate understanding of the TRUE demand). If you're #42 in NYC and #12 in LA, it means nothing... essentially, your name will be on the ONE list in position X, and your position is determined by the date you registered to be on the list (and yes, you can jump the queue a bit by being an existing client). FPJ then sends out the finished CB watches according to this one global list (or thereabouts).
For info (I found this older thread while trying to research anything and everything about FPJ and particularly the C Bleu), I was told by the Geneva boutique this week that the current waiting list for this watch is approximately four years.

This was after I had already told them it would be my first FPJ, so maybe they took that into account in giving the timescale. You can join the list with no deposit, after filling out an application form, so I guess I have to hope that a lot of other potential customers have signed up with no major commitment needed and will eventually pass when their name comes up :-)

4 years seems a lot compared to what some have quoted on this and other threads, but they are a low volume manufacturer and I suppose any spikes of interest from favourable online reviews or threads such as these could easily add substantially to the wait time. Also, I don't have a sense of whether that 4 years is only going to reduce, or is merely their best estimate taking into account other Journe clients who might decide they want to order one and quite understandably be allowed to jump the line ahead of people like me.

Still, I don't imagine the watch will be any less attractive in 2022-2023, so I'm in for the long haul if necessary.

Demand for the CB has spiked just in the last 9 months or so. A little over a year ago, I walked into the Miami boutique and they had one available for sale right there and then. In January, the list at the same boutique was less than 10 people. Around March is when things started to explode. Miami was around 20 people, Geneva was a year and a half wait. By August, they were saying at least 2 years. And now even longer.

Yes, the time you were quoted could be reduced by people on the list passing, but could also increase if prior customers get in front of you.

When I got on the list in January, I was told around 9 months. I got it in 6. Of course things have changed since then.

Hang in there!

Thanks, I will. The boutique told me what others have been, that the list is centralised at the manufacture and they aim to eliminate duplicate names, and they were also honest that existing clients are a priority. Which is fair enough, and I certainly hope to be one of those 'existing clients' in due course.

Spoke with FPJ in NY today. 100 on their waiting list, which is centralized as discussed. Waiting list around five years, unless known to Geneva or an otherwise big buyer.
