This is very good news. FedEx lost/damage claims can take many months to resolve, so the dealer definitely did the right thing. About a decade ago I was shipping a well-packaged musical instrument worth about $5k across the country (have done this many times) and FedEx managed to completely destroy the packaging and did significant irreparable damage to the instrument. I was the seller and the buyer was very helpful in supporting documentation of the damage and helping me as the seller to navigate the abyss of FedEx insurance claims. I refunded the money to my buyer in good faith, realizing that the onus was on me to deal with FedEx. It took about 4 months of various reviews, follow up documentation, questions, forms galore, talks with people about partial vs. full insurance coverage etc. and ultimately was able to get the full insurance value paid to me. Not a fun experience!

I'm really glad to see this outcome!

I'm still tracking the package and hoping it eventually is found, but have ceased contacting FedEx. Last update was 29-Nov, "package available for clearance" in Memphis. This would suggest that it is waiting to clear customs, so perhaps somehow the package left the country despite being domestic express/priority overnight. We can only speculate, but what a cluster****

This is an indication of a solid, reliable dealer and is definitely one that I would do business with again.

Sorry to hear about the issue but great news that it's a trusted dealer and you/they insured the watch. Even then it's always a little stressful in transit and why I'd prefer to always hand deliver watches when it works out.

I'd bet the watch still turns up.

Agreed! I know most of the threads in this forum is for outing scammers. But I think it would also be great to recognize and highlight the great dealers

EWC in Boston. It seems the watch finally arrived anyway based on the tracking.

Those guys are great to work with. Glad it’s all taken care of on both sides.

what a relief! I tend to freak out whenever I'm shipping anything until the buyer confirms it's physically in his hands, even when tracking is going smoothly. I can't imagine the stress when things go wrong during the process.

EWC is a great company to work with. Great that they paid you once the package was missing. Glad it finally arrived to them.

I've bought several watches and traded one to EWC in Boston. They're great to deal with. I'm glad it all worked out.
