Disappointed by hot model
Matching a bezel’s color with the dial has never been a Rolex forté.
See: original Root Beer all brown bezel, Smurf, 5-digit Bluesy, current Bluesy - oh, and Platona But I see both sides of the coin - if you love the dial and like congruity then flattish sea-green won’t sizzle - yet it is amazing how many colors Rolex can execute in ceramic. I have to disagree completely, the subtlety of the color is amazing, it can be matte finish in one light and completely glossy in another. It augments and compliments the graduated green of the dial in every way. I also agree that it may not be for everyone but I love mine.

definitely a niche watch to me. I don't love it, and don't hate it. Just my .02 :)

A few years ago nobody wanted the watch. Easily sold for a discount and was always sitting in the display.

I got caught up in the hype I am embarrassed to say. The first time I went to a Rolex AD I can vividly remembering seeing a shiny green watch and thinking I would never buy that thing. Bought a few Rolex watches and eventually joined this site. Got caught up the hype and went on the list for a Hulk. My AD called and I went to see it. I was within a moment of buying it and asked to have them hold it for an hour while I went to grab lunch. Halfway through my burger I thought to myself "what are you doing... you hated the watch at first and then basically talked yourself into liking it to have a hot watch." I called the AD and turned it down. The AD was absolutely stunned and asked if I was certain.
Beautiful watch for someone who loves it. The hype and others influenced me into chasing it when it turns out I am not someone who loves it. |

Subjective to light, and the beholder.
Where the Hulk is concerned, I Don’t believe changing the hue of the bezel would make much difference to the masses. This would mainly be due to the fickle relationship between colored ceramic, and transforming light conditions. The Hulk just like it’s namesake has an ever-changing personality, and I believe this is why it has such a cult following. I think many appreciate its eccentricities as much as it’s aesthetics. In the same way people have come to like the AP RO series of watches. Unorthodox but interesting. |

I have never been a fan of the hulk. The green is too bright. I think it may look better a darker shade of green. I prefer the Kermit.

I'm happy for people who like it and got to own one because I've passed many many many times when offered this watch. |
