Not watch related but a cool ww2 story
My great uncle's remains were recently recovered in Germany and a funeral was held in Arlington for him and his B52 crew. This story is almost as cool. Happy Rememberance Day!

Wonderful and heart-wrenching read. My father fought in the Pacific and two uncles fought in Europe. One uncle fought heroically at the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Silver Star. He was later captured, imprisoned by the Germans and escaped. He would be captured again and escape again. He survived the war and is in his early 90s now.
War is hell - an abomination. Today, Veteran's Day, as we remember the armistice signed on the 11th month, the 11th day and the 11th hour in 1918 which ended the the war to end all wars, I would like to salute all my fellow veterans and active duty military personnel for their honor and sacrifices for this country and others. Thanks for the thread and link.

A powerful piece. Thanks very much for sharing.
I have spent time with my great uncles and heard their war stories, fortunately none were told with regret. They all fought in the Pacific. They all carried the burden of war to the day they I spoke with them -and forever. Thanks to all who have served. |

Thanks for sharing that story. So sad to read but it is real history that needed to be told.
