A Rolex is a darned nice watch!! But having more than one is beyond the point of practicality - these things do not need to 'air' between wearings like silk suits and dress shoes. Owning more than one is satisfying an additional need, but its nothing to feel guilty about. It all it just depends upon one's appetite for more Rolexes (or other watches) - and, perhaps, their ability to pay for them. So, those choices would be entirely up to you - we are all cool with you owning more - enablers that we are! Because you asked, its obvious that you are wanting more, so......I vote

It's too many when we value buying another watch more than helping people in need. The great thing is they are not mutually exclusive. Nothing wrong with a nice collection but there is more to life. I personally think two is a great number. One sport and one dress watch. Maybe three if adding a Patek to the collection, but no more than three!

Everyone is individual, as we hope to get our money back if we ever sell a watch, I don't really worry about it. I hope one day to have a lot more than I have now, one things for sure I know there is a new watch waiting for me somewhere...

I think one watch is enough .. 2 are more than enough ..

one for daily use .. and another for formal use.. Having too many watches and not knowing what to do with them or when to wear them .. is just a waste of time and takes the fun out of having a watch that spends a lifetime with you.

Definately different for everyone. Work / dress / play....For some, one watch can do all those things. For others, a different watch for each occasion (and then some).

I had 4 at one point until last week until I traded two for a daytona ad now I feel that I'm complete now I have 16610lv ,16613, and 116520 the dial . One thing is for sure when you just bought a watch and you are looking for another something is wrong be side you are not truly satisfied. When I use to just have my 16610 I was so happy just to have one now that I have 3 I'm always swith changing selling and don't appreciate them like before. And once you stop appreciating then you start to get bored with them. So IMHO kept it simple buy a nice rolex wear it enjoy it because you can only wear one watch at a time or unless you wear on each wrist

I had five rolex's a few breitlings and two omega's. I loved the variety within my rolex stable but not one really satisfied me, that's why I bought so many. Well I sold everything but my omegas and bought one full gold Rolex. Needless to say a full gold Rolex satisfies all my needs.
So what I'm trying to say is different strokes for different folks..

I did well with a SS Sub Date alone for about 15 yrs, then flipped it for SS YM which I wore every day for the next ten years or so.

Then the poop hit the fan. I just HAD to have the SeaDweller 4000, the 2-line no-date, the GMT Pepsi, the DSSD, the WG Meteorite Daytona, blah, blah, blah.

Also agree with earlier posts that unworn watches should be jettisoned. Problem for me is that I continue to wear and enjoy all of these. So the collection seems to continue to grow.

Good luck doing a better job with self-control!

I laugh when I hear people say that if you own more than this number then something is wrong and that person is using it to offset an inadequacy in their life. Can't be farther from the truth. Every person knows what number fills their needs. Some people love their hobbies. Some don't understand it but that is what makes us individuals. We are not filling a void, we just love watches! Plain and simple! I am happy for any individual who owns a Rolex they love whether it be 1 or 50. I only see it being a problem if they are not fiscally responsible to their family or themselves.

I'm pretty new to rolex and judging from the different models I've tried on, I'd say three would work for me. A dress watch, an everyday work watch, and a sport watch. I have a tt datejust, a polar explorer II, and want a ss gmt to complete the trifecta!
