Is this a wise trade? 1680 red submariner!

Hi all,
I have posted a few watches here that I have come across while looking to sell my motorcycle. (I have listed that I will take partial trades on sports model rolexes) I am NOT a dealer and am not in the side business or looking to "flip" watches. I have a very nice customized Ducati I am selling and a gentleman has offered this watch on trade. I have done some research and have only become more confused about provenance and originality. I will try to get more photos as I am meant to meet the owner of this watch today. What are your thoughts about this piece? Does it look correct/original? Owner states he has original stainless bracelet (although not pictured) as well as original box and paperwork. Trade value on the bike I'm selling is +/- $15k. Any thoughts or feedback appreciated as well as a suggestion for a shop in LA that may be able to have a look in person. Owner claims it is all original, only change is that hands were re-lumed some time back.

Thanks!

Everything about it is fake. Search in the watch-out section, you'll see a few recent threads with this same fake case and dial combo. Probably all came out of the same factory in Vietnam.

You probably should; he might be a scammer, or might've just gotten scammed.

A few weeks ago someone tried to sell me that same fake case and dial combo. He honestly didn't know it was fake and got his money back from the guy who sold it to him.

He told me he had it looked over by a vey knowledgeable and reputable watch store in Beverly Hills. So I doubt he is unaware of it being fake if he's telling me that. Now I kinda wanna crack him one. Lol

Then yes he's probably a scammer. Play him along some and ask him to send you the authentication letter from said "respected Beverly Hills jeweler".

Here it is on CL LA:

Nothing to do with hindsight at all. You have started two threads asking for advice on the wisdom of proposed trades and it appears quite clear that you know a good deal about motorbikes but have inadequate knowledge of vintage watches to be entering into such trades. It's your call but the whole concept appears unwise in your circumstance.

3 threads actually and I wound up with 2 of the 3 watches. I believe this is how one learns. Trial and error plus advice from those more knowledgeable. Don't be so quick to dismiss people who share interests but lack information. There are areas in which I have great expertise and am always happy to share it, I'm sorry you feel differently. Thanks for your input.

I have, thank you. I also took the pics to a very knowledgeable local dealer and he showed me all the inconsistencies. Not something I was going to blindly jump into but certainly a trade of interest, however, this one was not the real mccoy. I appreciate all of the insight, I enjoy learning about these watches.

These exact photos were also used on an eBay listing at the beginning of July. It was taken down before ending (probably due to all of you guys reporting it!), but I actually have a screenshot, which I've posted below. The seller was "joshnmash," who of course had 100% feedback.

So I know you don't need anyone else to tell you....but RUN!

I have his cell phone number in the event anyone wants to explain the value of integrity to him.
