1675 all red small hand underline dial

Hi all,

I am discussing a watch I saw recently. I am thinking about buying one but not exactly sure if it is worth paying a significant premium (about 50%) compared to a normal 1675 gilt.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever seen the combination underline dial/all red small hand? What do you think about the rarity?

Personally I would just see an all red small hand as defect paint job or aftermarket. I would not pay premium for it. Underline GMTs are exceptionally rare. Is it chapter or non-chapter ring? I would only pay a big premium if the gilt dial is perfect. If not I would skip rarity and hunt something else. With or without underline..

Very interesting. According to my research the all red small hand was produced for the asian market. So it fits with the underline dial. The one I am discussing is a radial dial.
The gilt dial i saw, was not perfect but very good.

The all red hand is REAL and this discussion can go on forever.. However I've not seen a small all red hand ? Can you share pics ?

That is a new one on me. Never heard that before regarding the red hand being an Asian market hand and frankly, that sounds like someone pulled it out of their behind and concocted a story to sell a watch.

Listen...most of them are repainted now. The larger all-red hands were normally found during the later 1960s and some of the gilts could be found with the smaller all-red hand. If you find a genuine one, I can almost guarantee you that it will be in poor condition.

Now you see them being placed on any and everything. If you want one that bad, get a hand and paint your own like everyone else is doing.

I've seen a few through the years and there were all-red, small 24-hour hands.
