Need help about 1675 GMT case

Hi everybody,

I need your opinions aboute the case of my GMT 1675 long E.
The case is thick and not too much polished.

My questions is about the angles at the end of the lugs.

Most of the 1675 that I saw have the ends of the lugs sharp.

What do you think?
Thanks

The bottom of the lugs have been cut too much. Normally there is a small angle cut at the bottom, but it is much, smaller than the one depicted on this watch.

Thanks Springer.
This is also what I think.

And about reference number? The font is it original?

That is extremely bad...it appears the "watchmaker" grinded down each lug...but way? I'm lost for words.

Perhaps the owner used to wear it on a strap and felt that the lugs were cutting into his arm. Then it would make sense to grind down the sharp edge. Other than that the case looks pretty good to me.

This thread has resurfaced elsewhere.

I have seen such lug phenomena before, when one lug has received a nasty knock and a repairer offers to "round down" all four corners to disguise the fact. As I pointed out before people expressed too much horror, let us remember that these were once £250 tool watches...

Edit : I've just noticed that this thread has been started twice by the same OP. What's that about?

Wear it on a NATO, damage may appear less.
