Question about G serialed Sub-C

Hello fellas;

Just reading about history of the Sub (looking for a birth year watch for a friend) and I know that Rolex switched to random serial in 2010 or about.

However, my Sub-C was purchased in 2013 and the serial starts w/ a G (which I suspect not random?). Does that sound factual?

Thank you.

p.s.
I have G plus 6 numbers

I'm not too sure about that Sir.I believed random serial or the politically correct term Pseudo Randomly Assigned Alpha Numeric Identifier started appearing at the AD in early 2010, then a single G with 6 numbers was reported in June 2010.So at least by the second half of 2010 both serials were actually running simultaneosly for a couple of yrs.I have seen G serials Rolex watches from 2012 (One was dated Oct 2012 if I recall correctly) but speculating G serials from 2013 do exist out in the wild.So to answer your question, Yes.Your SubC is all Good !

Edit : I assume you made a correction in the year the random serial was implemented. I was responding to your original question .

G serial and random were being produced simultaneously for 2 years or so.

With the letter prefix serials, Rolex has always had 2 and even 3 in release at the same time; there is a lot of carry over and each prefix was in production for 2 to 4 years.

Same with Randoms.. Randoms came out in 2010 but everything else did not suddenly stop. They continued to release V serials concurrently with the Randoms, and they then released G serials in late 2010, after Randoms. (charts that plug-in G to 2009 are wrong, there was no new prefix release seen in 2009)

So, V and G were in production concurrently with Random serials, with G being the final letter prefix release, carrying easily into 2013 or longer.

Random serials total 8 digits started the latter part of 2010 then just after the single letter G six numbers started to appear.So both single letter G and random were running in the same time from for a few years.So a single G serial could be newer made than a random serial in that 2010-2013 time frame.
